As I watch Yuka vs. Mariah, it's hitting me that modern wrestling just isn't for me anymore. Dueling slaps. Dueling chops. Dueling forearm shivers. "You hit me, I hit you...boo-yay..." I just don't like what wrestling is anymore, from an in-ring perspective. I'm okay with anyone who still loves it, but I kinda don't anymore. I thought the same watching the Bucks match. 17 false finishes and taking 3 finishers in a row to kick out and then have a badly timed interference finish. Its exhausting and becomes a chore to watch the match at that point.

I think I'm too old to enjoy Darby matches.

So no one else in back is coming to help American Dragon? That was a really strange way to end the show. This entire build has been really haphazard.
Oh and JR breaking kayfabe with Nigel saying Thank You. You're not supposed to point that out JR! LOL

It’s such silly bullshit, wink and nod at the crowd type shit that this is fake and let’s have fun. This boils the blood of my inner Cornette.

Occasionally something hits and it's amazing. But more often than not, it's just the same match I've seen a billion times. It's why I didn't think PAC-Ospreay from All Out was as amazing as others did.

Nigel & Bryan was really great. For not wrestling a singles match for as long as he had, Nigel crushed it. Hope that wasn’t his final match. I’d love to see him sporadically. The Sabian stealing of Christian’s pen to sign the contract post match was insanely dumb though.
Retiring the FTW Title gave Taz & Hook a cool moment and now allows Hook to move on, which was long overdue.
Tag Title match was excellent. Liked the finish as it will definitely lead to Callis acting more heelish and Fletcher presumably turning, as he should.
Mariah vs Yuka I thought was very sloppy and rough. Crowd was dead, they didn’t buy Yuka, despite being cute as a button, as a threat. Happy Mina is back, but she was on TV for like 30 seconds. WE WANT MORE MINA!
MVP debuting and being involved with trying to steal Swerve from Nana is pretty great.
Mox murdering Darby for the finish of the main was the way to go. Darby didn’t get written off though, so I wonder where he goes from here for the PPV?
Thought it was a fun Grand Slam

This 14 second clip was better than the entire match (minus post match when Mina showed up)
They were heavy on the bleep button tonight, so I don’t think we could’ve gotten Yuka calling Mariah a bitch on TV, no matter how adorable it might sound.

Open hand palm strikes, they’re legal! Doesn’t want to risk a DQ early in the match against Brittle Bryan!
I turned on a few of their ROH matches today and it was cool how they sprinkled in callbacks from their series 15-20 years later.
Never thought we’d get that match ever again, so was happy to get it and Nigel looked good for not wrestling a singles match since 2011

Get that trilogy in before calling it a full time career!
First 6 seconds of this are hilarious. Rest is fire.

Oh good. Danielson wasn't able to fight Darby last week, but fought Nigel and now will fight Okada.
That "no such thing as long term booking" is making more and more sense.

I need Tony to stop playing with his dolls and book coherent stories.
Or turn the book over to RJ City full time.

Danielson recovered quickly because Nigel took it too easy on that clam digger. Even Nigel said Thank You when he submitted for Brittle Bryan granting him his final wrestling wish.
We simply took Mox on his word that Bryan was out of action, never hearing from Bryan himself. We were only told “if he was able to compete against Nigel at Grand Slam”. Bryan knew all along he was healthy enough. He never wanted to face Darby next after what Mox did. He lured Mox into fighting for and winning the title shot and now he can get his hands on Mox at WrestleDream instead of Darby. Being a self admitted fighting champion, he’ll put that title on the line, even against his sworn enemy because that’s what fighting champions do. After revenge, he’ll give Darby a shot afterwards (I still believe Mox will win and Darby ultimately beats him for the title down the line)
Same goes for Dynamite, as Bryan wants revenge for Okada beating him at the Tokyo Dome before his full time career is over.
I’m fucking exhausted trying to somewhat make sense of that. You can’t make me do that again, jerks.

Bryan vs Okada is for the World Title only if it goes over 20 minutes. The first 20 minutes is for Okada’s Continental Title. If they’re doing champion vs champion, it oddly does make sense since Okada’s title is defended only TV in 20 minute matches.
So instead of doing a draw at 20 and have Okada bail like he has in the past, there’s something bigger on the line and if he pushes it to over 20 minutes, then he could potentially beat Bryan for the title and end his full time career before WrestleDream even happens.
That said, this is way too convoluted for wrestling fans, even I’m aware of that. That’s coming from the guy who just rambled his way through his last post!

Tony's booking reminds me of a customer service person that's worked in the same job for 20 years and doesn't know that every customer doesn't understand everything about the company.

Hopefully that's not done on the show.
You have to make that announcement in the real world first to maximize the exposure.

I don’t think Tony would be able to help himself and want to announce it on the show. Official press release before the show begins would make sense though.
