I understand but that doesn’t help me right now. I haven’t been as impressed as all of you with this product. I think it’s way overhyped from the television I’ve seen. It pisses me off because this was a chance for me to give a shit. They haven’t been able to keep my consistent attention for a year now. The only thing that has really been refreshing is not hearing a broadcast team directed by Vince. JR is grumpy as fuck though and I don’t like Excalibur at all.

I thought the title matches more than made up for the shitty start (minus the Bucks match).
It's just the bad stuff was REALLY BAD, thus sticks out more. More people are sadly talking about the Hardy stuff or Sydal's botch than they are how great Shida/Rosa was or how great of a story the Tag Titles were or how excellent of a Main Event Mox & MJF had while working their stipulation.
The dentist stuff should've been on BTE or Dark if Britt wasn't ready to actually wrestle. Not on your PPV. And Sammy/Hardy should honestly never have happened to begin with honestly.
Take those out, it would've been a really solid show IMO.

I think that’s unfortunate. Botches happen from time to time. You can’t always be perfect. Social media gives shit like that way too long of a life. A move was missed oh well. Guess what? If this was a real sport these guys wouldn’t hit “all of their moves” either. I hate fans that focus on that.

Genuinely curious why you don't like Excalibur.
Is it his knowing of seemingly every move, thus baffling Tony & JR to the point where they almost mock him? Or him trying to be too in depth with background stuff, that really no one would care about?
I've liked him since I first started watching PWG DVDs, so I'm used to him. I like his quirks, but as someone who is new to him, I'm interested in why you aren't a fan.

For me, JR is the one who takes me out of it. He clearly gets lost at times, tries to shoe horn in his little one liners (Stu "Don't Call Me Dick" Grayson needs to fucking go and also calling MJF a "Richard" was fine once, every fucking match?). He also said Lance Hoyt was the winner of the battle royal. Not his name Jim. It's Archer, Lance Archer. And don't get me started on "Jungle Jack Perry".
And his Anna Jay creepy comments came out of Jerry Lawler's playbook.

Maybe it’s the large broadcast booth but he just comes off as having an annoying personality - a little too cute sometimes without educating the viewer, but that’s kind of the whole thing with AEW. It’s for marks, not a growing mainstream audience. I don’t know. He just annoys me. JR kind of sucks too though. If I had to take three I’d take Tony, Jericho and Taz but there are obvious reasons why that can’t be a thing right now.

Totally understand. It's tough seeing it from someone else's perspective sometimes since I'm used to hearing his commentary.
Tony, Taz & Excalibur to me would be my 3. Although I know they need to use JR's name to draw in some viewers.
My suggestion would be, deep dive into the product for a few months. It might be a lot to ask, but to get the full idea of the product, watch Being The Elite and also Dark on YouTube, familiarize yourself with all the talent, watch every week on Dynamite leading to their next PPV. If you aren't satisfied with builds or it doesn't deliver, then at least you gave it a go.
I'm just happy you're watching more wrestling! If all else fails, start a thread in my section of the board & start reviewing old matches! Haha.

I probably won’t do that but appreciate the tip! Haha!
I think AEW is asking too much for new fans. Maybe I’ve just outgrown this.

This show read like some really shitty 1995 In Your House shit with the Godwins pig slop match taking part of the top billing. Isn’t this supposed to be one of their biggest shows of the year? As an outsider trying to get invested, this did not at all get me excited about giving this company money. They have 4 biggest shows of the year. All pretty equal. They had 2 questionable matches on this card and 1 of those was only due to a very unfortunate incident. The rest of the card (minus the dentist bullshit) was anywhere from good to exceptional. Not sure what's not to like?

Don't know. I didn't watch. Based on this thread and what Ive read, the show did not get good reviews. I can only tell you what I've read did not excite me to give this company PPV money.

You’re point? I never said I did watch it or said I can fairly review the show. You aren’t getting it. I represent the next level of fans they need to get invested in their product if they want to grow. Based on what I’ve read and what has been reviewed it wasn’t good - same shit as a movie review KS. They are asking for $50.
I have watched the TV on and off for the last year and it has yet to keep me captivated to come back week after week. I don’t know what you want me to do.

You've already admitted to me that you've watched AEW like 4 times this year. Now you got all these opinions on All Out based on other people's opinions because YOU DIDN'T WATCH. Here's an idea, Ryan, maybe watch a damn show on your own. How in the ever loving F are other's opinions dictating yours??

I guess don't fucking watch then if you're gonna rely on others to form your opinion. AEW will be alright without you. So will I.

You are so defensive about this product you can’t even understand what I’m saying. I openly said I can’t give a fair review. I said “what it read like.” My point is I think they might have a problem drawing the next level of fringe fans. I also watched when it started in 2019. I’ve seen enough where I had hoped to get hooked. Definitely some good I’ve seen but I’ve seen so much silly shit too. I just don’t think the television is as far off from the wwe product as you guys think. I’m glad you enjoy it. I wish I could get there like the rest of you. I’m not telling you that you shouldn’t enjoy it. I’m explaining why I can’t get there. You shouldn’t be offended by my perspective of the product.

Woodridge is spot on. The goal is to grow your audience and this show wasn't it. I am one of their already core audience and I DIDN'T get the PPV. It did not interest me and that made me both mad and sad. I watch every Wednesday, I shouldn't have to watch Dark or BTE to understand angles or why matches are booked the way they are. Keep that stuff on the flagship program. BTE isn't going to keep you in business, consistent weekly TV and next level PPVs will.
Also, JR needs to go. He doesn't bring in any new viewers either. If you aren't already a mark you don't give a shit about what that guy has to say. My 8 year old sure doesn't. In his prime, JR was one of the all time best... he is not in his prime.
I will still watch every Wednesday but they need to step up the booking - both long term and short term. A lot of recent hot shot nonsense - ie Brian Cage, Kingston clique - and too many jobbers overall (hi QT).

If I had relied on jackref, I would've skipped the show because he decided it was terrible before it even began. I enjoyed the show immensely.

No one is taking away your enjoyment of it. I am glad you were entertained! I also want to be entertained by the product, this time it just didnt' do it for me. I am not giving up on them or upset at them, I just wasn't going to pay them for a PPV is all.

Jackref and Woodridge right on the money.
If the goal is to keep the core 700-800k, then there's nothing AEW has to do differently.
A lot of people have been turned off by the "wins and losses matter" aspect not actually being followed.
And nothing should happen on your YouTube shows that introduces anything new. It can certainly enhance something that is introduced on Dynamite, and that's what most of it is.

In all seriousness though, this is the first AEW PPV I am not buying. The only match really interesting to me is FTR vs. Omega/Page. MJF/Moxley is just ok, and Jericho/Cassidy seems over gimmicked. THe other matches zero interest. That was my post day off PPV. I just wasn't interested. I'll break it down a bit further copy/pasting from Randomone's initial post and expounding my thoughts at the time The final card for AEW All Out is as follows: Jon Moxley vs. MJF for the AEW World title - Somewhat interested but banning a finishing move is not a great angle. The build up was good and enjoyable, but there really wasn't anything that made you think Moxley was going to lose. I say that in hindsight but I truly didn't see MJF winning. Chris Jericho vs. Orange Cassidy in a Mimosa Mayhem match . Dumb gimmick match. Terrible. I like the feud and was willing to go with it, but it really went beyond silly with this concept. Kenny Omega & Adam Page vs. FTR for the AEW World Tag Team titles - The one match I was excited for. I really like the build and the subtleness of everything this angle has been to this point. Hikaru Shida vs. Thunder Rosa for the AEW Women’s title - short build for the match but ThunderRosa has been awesome what we have seen of her. But we saw nothing of Shida the past month really. Again I didn't think Shida would lose to a champ of a competing company who wasn't under long term contract. A 21-man Casino Battle Royal match for a future AEW World title match - just off the charts zero interest. I think I just hate battle royales and really just see them as filler. The Dark Order (Brodie Lee, Colt Cabana, Evil Uno, and Stu Grayson) vs. Matt Cardona, Scorpio Sky, and the Natural Nightmares in an eight-man tag team match - honestly having QT in a match is automatic change the channel. Add in Matt "no gimmick but still living the gimmick" Cardona and I am not paying money for it. Even if Cabana is part of it. Still don't know why Scorpio was part of this match. Now I can see a good angle coming out of this but I'll save that for another thread. Jurassic Express vs. The Young Bucks - As much as I like both teams, I didn't care about this match at all. Jurassic Express needs to do something different, I don't know but they have gotten stale. Matt Hardy vs. Sammy Guevara in a Broken Rules match - Not sure why this was being forced upon us but instant don't care.
