AEW All Out 2024: We Burned Down A House

Whatever the fuck this Costco stuff is, sometimes I miss when there was a tighter window to become a celebrity.

So Moxley's promo a couple of weeks ago was nothing but pointless recitation of a movie line he heard.

Ok.

Mox is stupid

Max & Garcia was a hot opener. Garcia lost the match but ultimately stood tall.

Tag Title match was fun and the best the Bucks have looked since winning the tag titles.

PAC & Ospreay was a MOTY candidate and one of the best AEW matches ever IMO

Stat & Willow had to follow that and FUCKING DID! They crushed it, had the fans the whole time and knocked it out of the park. Best women’s weapons match they’ve done. So much fun.

4 way was fun and I assume sets up Takeshita & Okada

Mine & Shida was going so much better than Britt & Mone until the last minute when it all fell apart. Mone kicked out at one after taking multiple Shida finishers and they scurried to an unnecessary kendo stick spot that made Shida look like a moron.

Danielson/Perry overdelivered IMO. Perry, even though we knew he was losing, looked the best he has this whole heel run (arguably ever?).

Post match Mox attack was so cool and I didn’t expect Claudio & PAC joining in on the attack. Yuta is the child caught in the middle. The Funk/Flair bag spot was fucking psychotic and I loved it. Can’t wait to see what’s next.

Main event, what’s there to say? They brought the violence and delivered. Aside from the unnecessary syringe spot at the end, I loved this whole match. Page letting out a primal scream after finally defeating Swerve, even if it doesn’t count on the record.

This was a phenomenal show.

MJF and Garcia was fine. Crowd was into it. I wouldn't have started with it, and have blood and spit and snot all over the place in the first match, but I enjoyed it. The commentary over the postmatch stuff was stupid though.

Tag title match was watched on 2.5x speed. It looked okay.

PAC and Ospreay was...good. I was right that it felt like every other Ospreay match. It didn't feel like a better match than the MJF match from All In. I don't know. I know I'm in the minority in not calling it a Match of the Year candidate, but it didn't blow me away.

Enjoyed Statlander and Willow for what it was. The fact that they kept the crowd hot with that match was a testament to both ladies.

Continental Classic match was fine. Like randomone said, most likely setting stuff up for the future.

Mercedes and Shida was okay. The end stunk. No idea what happened.

Danielson/Perry was alright. Nothing special. The post-match angle was ruined for me by the commentary. Excalibur and Tony were over the top with the maudlin calls. And JR, I'm sure inadvertently, had the most accurate line of the night when he called it an embarrassment to wrestling. Also, and this is nit picking I know, but it was a plastic bag. Maybe restrain the guys arms if you're gonna use it as a weapon. Because the visual of Bryan clawing at his face and not simply puncturing the bag made him look like an idiot.

The main event was a deathmatch and I didn't like most of it. Not the match and the emotion, but the gratuitous chairshots and the syringe spot, too much. But I know it's a blood feud so it made sense. I hope they keep going though. Again, JR had the line of the match when he said it's too damn much.

Overall the show for me was a B. A lot of it was good.
