Red is pretty much her first album where haters finally gave in, mostly coming off the heals of Mean. I'm convinced that Mean did more to change perception of her than any song she has ever performed.
And Red did not disappoint. But I'm trying to weigh her earlier work (which was equally as awesome but more raw) with her newer stuff (that was more polished but still all kinds of awesome)
Maybe I'm being too nostalgic and holding Red (the album) back a bit, and perhaps one day I'll be moving some of these songs up the list as the greater picture in the Taylor Swift discography emerges.

Just because a song is an "Anthem" doesn't mean that you should judge it differently. If it wasn't overplayed it would be one of your favorite songs ever from that artist. Some people think that downplaying "Anthems" is cool. I don't.
We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together is right there with You Belong With Me and both deserve an awfully high spot in Taylor's discography.

I love All Too Well but it reminds me heavily of a faster Back To December.

So much goodness on the Red album. I've decided it contains my 2nd favorite Taylor song of all time. (Begin Again)

1989 is her 5th straight bazillion platinum album in pretty much as many years. By now everybody has realized her extraordinary talents or they're just living in Haterville at this point.
This is yet another album that's hard to judge in that I haven't given it the proper amount of spins and who knows what will be be released next as a single from it.
But so far we have yet another anthem in Shake It Off and two waaaaay above average songs in Blank Space and Style. And even though it's not necessarily my cup of tea, Bad Blood is a favorite to millions of people.

And I don't know if it's my 80's background or my Taylor love but she seems to have completely nailed the late 80's vibe of this 80's teen.

At any rate, I'd have to rate the 1989 album as:
Shake It Off Blank Space Style Bad Blood

Before I unleash my Taylor Top 30 let me just say a couple of things. It's really hard for me to mix ballads with other uptempo songs. Like where do you find the fine line that one is better than the other.
The other thing that's hard for me to judge is "Anthem songs". The reason they are overplayed and over saturate the market is because they are awesome songs. But once they reach that point, the cool thing to do or say is "That you like the deeper cuts" on the album. Well the deeper cuts are all fine and dandy but if the anthem song was a deeper cut and not an anthem, it would be your favorite song. So just stop it and go with it.
And lastly, do I take Taylor Swift too seriously and did I just make like 40 straight posts about her and her music? You're damn right I did.

While this nonsense is going on, The Rock was just singing "Shake It Off" in the vehicle on Ballers. Today will be a great day regardless.

Today's mail brought us the newest issue of Vanity Fair. Ms. Swift is the cover story. Like she needs more media exposure.

So it seems that Taylor Swift has bought herself a wing in the Country Music Hall of Fame called the "Taylor Swift Education Center". This is on the wall of the CMA Hall of Fame in Nashville. The whole idea of a country music "education center" named after a 25-yr old seems a bit much. But then it could just as easily have been named after some corporation, I guess, for the same price. I wonder how much she paid for this naming opportunity.

And of course, as the CMA is a nonprofit org, her gift is entirely tax deductible. Good branding, good building of her rep as a benefactor of country music heritage and tax advantages worth about $1.6 million (assuming she is in the top tax bracket of 40%). Smart woman right there.

First time I realized that Taylor had fucked somebody before she got to me. Kidding. Kind of. Anywho, it was painful to watch her "I just got fucked in the ass for the first time, eyes" during the entire performance (especially with that snake Mayer) but it's a damn catchy little tune nonetheless.

Attention Kirkwoodref,
Since Teardrops is your favorite TSwizzle song, I thought you might like the following two slower type songs. Can you please rate both of them? Thanks.
