Scott Wilson may have passed. I haven't been able to confirm it yet though.

I hate how they are advertising Rick Grimes Final Shows. Part of the hook was wondering how the hell he was going to get out of these situations. But really Rick was dead to me when he let Neegan live at the end of last season. Bullshit.

He's been dead to me for about 4 seasons. Rick had to let him live. Hes instrumental in the post All Out War world. Of course so was Carl and we know how that turned out.
The show sucked last year and will most likely continue to do so going forward.
Prior to this season, Fear had been improving. Once Gimple took a bigger role this season, the show went back to shit.
Gimple sucks and has absolutely destroyed a once profitable franchise for AMC. Yet he keeps getting promoted instead of fired. It's kind of amazing.

There are so many fucking characters that I don't care about like 90% of them. I don't want two 8 episode chunks and we see Daryl or Maggie for 2 of them. I cared more when there wasn't 350 characters on the show. We have zero time to get invested in anyone anymore.
Rick died when Lori did. He hasn't been the same since. This badass character becomes mopey for far too long of stretches.
I don't care about this show anymore. Neagan was badass for a few episodes but that's it. It's like they build up a season for one 5 minute scene. It's not worth it.
I've sank so much time in this show I'm not bailing though. I can't. It just lost all of its appeal to me though.

So Maggie is this ruthless badass now and they're realizing Rick has become a wussy with how he runs his town.
Happy Gregory got the boot (or rope for that matter).
That's one less person I have to keep track of.

Daryl and Rick had probably the best scene in years on the show this week.
Rick's death tour wraps up next week.

So I binged this season to catch up to watch Rick's last episode*.
This was an enjoyable episode for most of it. Then the helicopter came and the announcement of the movies.

I did like the real time jump at the end.

I just finished the ep. I did like the flashbacks with Shane and Herschel, but that was about it. For a final episode (or what we assumed to be final) for your #1 character, I was really let down. I don't know what I expected, but it wasn't that. So Rick shoots the dynamite and blows up the bridge of walkers and himself, yet we find Rick without any other scratches on him sitting by the river, holding his bleeding stomach still?
Then we get to the time jump & what's coming in the next 3 episodes, which makes me say, after 9 and a 1/2 seasons, I might be done with The Walking Dead.
THE WALKERS ARE TALKING NOW?!?!?!? One said "where are they?" and we learn that the walkers are evolving? No thanks, I'm fairly confident I'm tapping out.
I can only imagine the writers room and they go "ok guys, after 9 seasons, what is there left to do? I GOT IT! The walkers start talking!"
No thanks. I have 5 weeks of the new season of Doctor Who on my DVR that I can catch up on Sundays instead of talking walkers.

Spoiler: walkers aren't evolving.

Did they address this on Talking Dead? I stopped watching that. I just went off of what I heard in the preview for the next 3 eps. I'm glad they aren't then.
You hit the nail on the head a month ago Peeps when you said Gimple has ruined this franchise. You could tell they wanted to do that time jump just so we can have the shot of Judith as a gun wielding/cowboy hat wearing Annie Oakley (I'm ashamed I'm making references from the 1800s now, haha)

No but from reading comics I know what it is. {Spoiler} The next villains called The Whisperers. They wear walker skin to blend in. That's what the talking was and why the herd was just milling about.

The fact that they killed off Carl to make the post time jump next hero a girl is silly.
Judith will get Carl's moments from the comics.

I never got into this show, but nine seasons is way too much for this type of show. Five or six, maybe seven seasons is perfect. After a while there's nothing left to do.

The problem is it is AMCs only consistent money making show. That's why they keep expanding the "universe", first with the spinoff and now the movies. They need a new hit so they can kill this franchise.

They had Breaking Bad & Mad Men, but haven't really had a hit that level. Walking Dead has a die hard fan base, but it's not a show that will be nominated for main Emmy awards (aside from maybe special effects). Better Call Saul is a hit but nowhere near the level of Breaking Bad.
Zombies are all AMC has.
The only other show I watched on that channel was Comic Book Men and they cancelled it.

I mean even Breaking Bad didn't have it's big audience til season 3 and 4. Then 5 exploded and it was huge.
But AMC needs something besides zombies to hit because this franchise is looking like Shane Douglas circa 2018.

Zero clue this returned last night until I saw an episode DVR'd for me this morning.
Whisperers are scary villains and they've needed that for a while. Still way too many characters on this show for me to care nearly as much as I used to.
It was a solid return episode though. Too many little things going on with characters for an hour long episode.
Also didn't like multiple commercials for Lauren Cohan's new ABC show during the episode. Hey TWD fans, watch the show that made Maggie stop being on our show that often!

Thought it was just okay with the exception of the Whisperers at the end.
Negan's stuff wasn't bad either.

Lydia's backstory and Alpha and the gang showing up at the end were solid points in another kind of boring episode.

Another kind of a snoozer episode.
Rescue mission for not-Carl and Lydia was a success I guess.
The Fair is coming up.
And with it, bad things.
Negan needs more to do.

Beta Myers...
Throw him down an elevator shaft and he keeps coming.
I hate Henry.
I like the Highwaymen.
The Fair is upon us.
Something bad is gonna happen.

I'm trying to think, but I honestly believe Henry has been my most hated character ever in the series. There's no redeeming qualities about him. This show doesn't need tween love stories mixed in.
We have another damn group with the Highwaymen? I don't read the comics, how many more fucking groups are there???
My mind exploded when I saw who was playing Beta. No wonder why he survived a damn elevator shaft, that's Gerry Bertier from Remember The Titans!

Yeah they immediately seemed like folks who are armor for the real group, aka the main cast.
