That's hilarious. The part about Ghost was spot on. So cold for no reason. Very odd.

That episode was incredible.
It completely makes last week's look even worse but it was just full on insanity.
Next week will be crazier.

I love that I'm going to leave wanting more, but this season could have been twenty episodes. Twenty expensive episodes.

You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

Visually fantastic.
Made not a lick of sense and actively shat on much of what's come before it.

Visually fantastic. Made not a lick of sense and actively shat on much of what's come before it. This. The whole Dany Mad Queen just feels so rushed. Varys should not have died - he seemed to know it was coming but burned that note anyway and removed his jewelry - I hope that gets explained. And Arya's story was weird - why wait all the way to the Red Keep to decide you aren't going to continue on your quest to kill Cersei? I did like that Jaime killed Euron though - his redemption arc stayed intact, he just wanted to die with his sister and I'm good with that. I think at this point Sansa takes the throne but stays in Winterfell since Kings Landing is decimated. The outrage of the patriarchy always winning will explode the internet if Jon Snow sits the throne.

Varys thought much the same MANY of us have felt about the last few seasons. ew.com/tv/2019/05/12/game-of-thrones-varys-interview/They needed an extra beat to push Dany over the edge. Drogon getting shot in the tail. Greyworm dying. Dany seeing Jaime in the bell tower ringing the bells. Something other than "It will be fear" to explain her casually murdering thousands of regular people. Hell I would've understood it more if Cersei had her army intermixed with the townspeople and being used as human shields and Dany decides to kill the innocents in order to kill soldiers. But no. It was just mass murder for the sake of mass murder. Cleganebowl had all of the stakes removed once Cersei left so even though it was cool, it meant fuck all. I liked it but it was ultimately pointless. As was Euron and Jaime fight. Euron survived dragon fire and swam to the beach just when Jaime got there and then they fight. Who cares? Euron sucked and his death did nothing. Arya turning away was odd. She found her humanity right before she has the chance to kill the top name on her list. And Sandor turns her around with a nice speech? Did they not talk on the road from Winterfell? Crazy. Varys got a couple letters out I think before Tyrion turned him in. He burnt the latest one when he heard the Unsullied coming for him. No idea about the jewelry or its meaning (if any). But I enjoyed that part of the episode. RIP Golden Company. You showed up. Next week is going to be bitter. Not even sweet.

Did you get the "Varys was trying to poison Dany" vibe from the opening scene last night?
I didn't and don't think I missed anything but I guess it tracks. Kind of.

Me too and it has me even more confused.
Varys pledged himself to Dany 3 seasons ago. And upon learning that there's another Targaryen and that Dany hasn't shown the madness yet, he attempts to poison her? And he let's Tyrion know about it? AND then he all but confesses treason to Jon?
That's not the Varys I choose to remember.

AND then he all but confesses treason to Jon? That's not the Varys I choose to remember. I get it. Just like I get her thinking everyone is against her with seemingly face moves. Tyrion grabbing the arm of Varys as he walks away. If I'm Dany, I see that as obvious betrayal. As a viewer, I see that as "did what I had to do, thanks for everything, you're a good dude." The stories of redemption, family, and power are being overlooked because everything was a bit rushed.

The creators turning down more episodes and budget to get the show done is pretty unforgivable.

Yeah HBO offered to have 2 final 10 episode seasons at whatever budget they wanted. D&D said nah we're cool with 13 episodes over the final 2 seasons. Seeing what's happened they could've used the extra 7 episodes.

Welp, I finally started watching. I loved fucking with people seeing their reactions when I say I've never seen it. Now that the show is ending I lose a lot of that joy, haha. So I decided to start it.
I'm actually on Season 2 Episode 3.
My thoughts... Emilia Clarke is a smoke show (I knew that before the show, but still) Holy shit there's a lot of murder, blood, boning & super gross brother/sister banging Peter Dinklage is hilarious I know maybe 10 peoples names out of what seems like 4,000 I know Joffrey dies in a few seasons, but it can't come soon enough. That little shit is a monster.
That about does it

Enjoy it now! First 4 seasons are like the Monday Night Wars. Exciting and riveting and never knowing what is going to happen. Now we are in WCW Thunder territory as the series is finally wrapping up. Just Norman Smiley shaking his junk in your face and you allow it because you hope redemption is going to happen for investing so much time in it.
Narrator: It doesn't.

So I'm 4 episodes into Season 2, so I know a lot of shit is going to happen.
However I see shirts that say House Lannister in stores and all I can think of is people who buy that fully support banging their sibling?
Lannister's have given me zero reason to support them thus far. Aside from Dinklage. Jamie sucks and Cersei is a bitch on wheels.

This season has soured many feelings.
The show undoubtedly dropped in quality once they were done with source material and D&D had to write their own stuff.
It's a phenomenon. It's not a well written show.

I also audibly said Roll Tide when Natalie Dormer dropped her robe in the 1st ep she's in.
