Let's never see that side of Melisandre again... I just spent four days trying to be 21 again, and that is not helping my efforts to keep everything currently in my stomach inside my stomach.

Solid first episode. The Dorne bloodshed was a surprise. The killing of characters train just keep chugging along.
Can't say viewers will really care those two are dead but Dorne/Casterly/King's Landing is feud is going to be a mess.
One "hole" I found in the episode is when Ramsay's men were attacked by Pod and Brienne the dogs just kinda went poof.
Unless I missed them getting stabbed. Idk.

Yeah they just disappeared I think.
Didn't like Dorne as it completely leaves out Dorian's plotting against the Lannisters and leaves his legacy as a fool.

But it is setting up the Sand Snakes to be bad ass bitches. It is so far removed from the books right now that nothing we know is even remotely accurate at this point. We are all Jon Snow - we know nothing.

No I like the Sand Snakes being bad asses.
Just liked the behind the scenes machinations of Dorian. Hopefully that gets played out and we learn about it later.

That was a very good episode last night.
Someone's uppance finally came, we saw the wildlings' return to Castle Black, a girl's training will continue, and the Republicans of Westeros managed to intimidate even The Kingsley erin.
And we finally get the return of the Greyjoys, including Euron. And Aeron Damphair! The Kingsmoot will be coming up too.

I can't remember the last time I watched a one hour show and couldn't believe it was already over.

I really enjoyed this episode. This one easily was the best of the season (only 3 in but still). The pacing was just right for all the plot lines except perhaps Sam/Gilly/Baby (mostly b/c I don't care for what happens to them).
Glad to see something there is progress with Arya. Even in the books her story was incredibly slow.
It sucks somewhat that Tyrion is in Essos. His lack of standing and interaction with leadership compared to Westeros reduces his opportunities to display his wittiness. There is bantering with Varys but he's handcuffed from plotting. In Westeros he was married to a Stark, Hand of King, a Lannister, etc. He pretty much had free reign.
I was happy Pyke and Dorne weren't included. Both those stories suuuuuuuuuuuck.
GoT people are great at teasing. I bet there isn't a Bran scene next week. We don't see what's inside the Tower of Joy until 2 or maybe even 3 episodes.

Episode 5 supposedly is when young Ned reaches the tower.

Oh snap, forgot, the Tower of Joy sword scene was outstanding. The choreography was exactly what you'd imagine a true sword fight like that to be. Instead of the usualy stupid cliche where a group "takes turns", tSoM wielded those double-swords and fended off his attackers until he had a sliver of opportunity to kill. It wasn't "flashy" sword fighting either. All those strikes and swings from tSoM were either defending or attacking. A fantastic scene other than one quibble. Howland Reed looked like a normal human rather than a crannogman and when he attacked and fell it appeared like his sword was still sheathed!

This won't make sense. The episode was good but I didn't like it. After last week's excellent episode this one was subdued. A lot of setting up, planning, and discussions. Last week's was jam packed with action so following up was going to be hard.
- Surprised how quickly Osha was discarded. I expected her to be interrogated or fed to the dogs. Oh well. - I have zero interest in Pyke. None. Zero. Zip. Zilch. - King's Landing was whatever. The "small council" scene was interesting. - Gotta wonder if High Sparrow is feeding Tommen faulty info. High Sparrow has to know he'd spill any beans to Cersei - Tormund giving goo-goo eyes to Brienne!!!!! - Disappointed we didn't get any Arya scenes. - Tyrion negotiations were interesting. Don't exactly know why the slave masters would agree to his proposal. - Even with the Dothraki now under Dany's control I don't care about her plotline. Essos just does nothing for me.
Episode was fine. Just not what I, myself, was looking for.

This is what will happen when there are so many compelling stories. I don't understand the people saying the show has two years left. It seems like ten right now.

There was a Jon-Sansa reunion. That NEVER happens. It's always a series of near-misses. To have it actually happen was great to me. Osha scene wasn't needed but didn't bother me either. Ramsay sucks. We know. Pyke was one of my favorite parts of the books. Don't think we'll get Victarion but that's okay. Kingsmoot will be wonderful for me. I think the High Sparrow is definitely setting a trap. He knows Tommen will tell someone and counts on it being Cersei. And he counts on Cersei reacting in the one way she knows. But I don't see how he survives. If the Tyrell and Lannister armies decide to crush the Faith Militant (along with the undead Mountain) then they're gonna get crushed. So we have Wildlings marching to Winterfell from the North (rallying other Northern houses along the way) and we have the knights of the Vale marching up from the South. We may get the Battle of Winterfell this season!
13 episodes left after this season. I like having an end point. Without it, I don't think things start moving like they are now.
