I guess the thing for me is that I was so detached from the previous product, that they can do almost anything right now and it's pretty fresh to me. Not fresh like a hip term but fresh as in it's kinda all new to me again with this promotion.
I'm thankful for my previous detachment. If you'll pardon the expression.

But they kind of messed that up. I haven't been watching much either. But I did the NY shows, and really wanted this to work. It's different. Somewhat. But this also brings up the "wrestling clock" deal. We need to start timing out old school PPV's, Attitude Era, and NWA shows. I'd be willing to bet there was less "wrasslin" during some of our fond memories.

I'd be willing to bet there was less "wrasslin" during some of our fond memories. You know, the weird thing, and you may even remember, is that I've always been a HUGE PROMO/VIGNETTE guy. HUGE. I've NEVER been a "Wrasslin'" guy until recently. That's how bad the non-wrestling part of the E has become for me. It was SO bad that it actuall changed/forced me into a 180. It's certainly possible you're right, and I'd be a lot more accepting of promos from the E, if they didn't SUCK. Like the Rollins/Heyman confrontation was phenomenal last night.

OK. Because the "Crusade for Rasslin' Action" isn't going to make the show better. Plus, we're definitely getting more wrestling today.

The gold standard to me is WCCW. I'd like to go back and time those shows. Aside from a few interviews, I remember nothing but wrestling out of those shows. And not just wrestling but wrestling that told a story. I hate to get all Good ol' JR but damn, rest holds aren't the devil, using the ref to your advantage shouldn't be a lost art, telling a story in the ring shouldn't give way to 2 minutes matches where everybody hits their finisher and they go home.

Dammitt Drop In!!! Now you got me started.
I'm timing stuff for pure selfish reasons as well. I'm trying to figure out what to devote my time to. If ROH is giving me the same amount of actual bell to bell televised wrestling without insulting my intelligence, then why am I giving Raw 3 hours of my life. (Granted the DVR cuts out about 35-40 minutes worth of that due to commercial.)
Now truth be told, I'll probably continue to watch Raw, Smackdown, Impact and ROH regardless.
But some of it too was the E just pissing me off. So instead of being perpetually pissed off, I decided to figure out just what exactly was pissing me off. And if I could find some alternatives that would ease my pissed-offedness.
So far, I've found that ROH makes me happy, Impact is fine so far, and by and large the E sucks but you cannot deny that the E can do things (when they put their fucking mind to it) that very simply NOBODY else can do.

I'm upset he did another deal with TNA. He should finish with WWE. It would make the risks, like last week, worth something. Matt's still got a little something over those black pants. While a legend in his own mind, he's still a part of our wrestling history. People complain if older talent doesn't put over the yut. A team of Dudley, and a team of Hardy did what they could to get the Wolves over. Think what that match would have been on a channel people can find.

And I don't mind one bit when "No Wrestle" segments are still "Wrestling Oriented". Like the last segment tonight with Lashley getting beat down had no bell to bell action but it was very wrestling oriented.
As opposed to 10 minutes of Adam Rose humping the Bunny or whatever the fuck.
Aside from maybe when Rock, Hogan and Austin got into the ring together, the only time you really ever hear "This Is Awesome!!" is during a wrestling match. Not a promo. Not a vignette.

I agree, I grew so tired of this product that I stuck solely to YouTube clips when I decided to watch. And even then, I didn't watch those every week.
This is a fresh start for me too. Despite essentially the same roster. If it gets unwatchable, I'll bail again.

If TNA was still on Spike you wouldn't have Mike Tenay hosting "Unlocked" tomorrow morning on Destination America. Mister.

I looked to see when that show was on to DVR the first ep just to see what it's like. Thinking its maybe an hour tops. IT'S TWO HOURS!!
If its a two hour show with no wrestling (not talking about matches from the night before on Impact), then that show will be done quick.
Have Tenay do his stories & rankings, recaps I guess (even if the show your recapping was on 12 hours earlier). But it'd be nice to have a couple matches to get people familiar with the talent more.

So I spent 5 minutes fast forwarding through the first episode of Unlocked & I would've almost liked two hours of non wrestling.......instead of the SAME SHOW they aired 12 HOURS EARLIER!
Only thing different is there are 2-3 popup tidbits about the talent during the match & they are in a font & color that I couldn't even read them. And there was a brief Magnus interview.
We bitch about WWE starting their shows with 20+ minutes of recaps, but this show is 99% rerun & 1% interview with Tenay & a wrestler. Incredibly disappointing.
Don't waste your time & DVR space (if you made the decision to check it out).

Segment 1 No Wrestle 3:55 Wrestle 7:43 - Feast or Fired
Thought the match was a little over-produced, especially in regard to Spud Webb but it was still nice to see an opening segment contain WRESTLING!! Woohoo!!! Robbie E, Spud Webb, Aries & Magnus each got briefcases. If Spud's briefcase is for the Heavyweight title, I'm done with this company.

Segment 2No Wrestle 7:57 Wrestle 2:37 - Lashley/King Lashley won via DQ after being beat down by the Beat Down Clan. Little bit too much MVP for my taste on this new Impact. Does anybody else turn down the TV when those KY Yours & Mine ads come on.

Segment 3 No Wrestle 6:31 Wrestle 4:02 - Kim/Havok
Nice physical match and was given time until Havok got DQ'd for assaulting the ref. Lights went out and there was Kharma. Not gonna lie when I say I'm looking forward to these two getting it on. In the ring. With clothes on.
But yeah, that was more compelling than anything the Diva's have done in like a year.

Segment 5 No Wrestle 7:42 Wrestle 5:10 - EyLowki/AngleRoode
Massive almost 13 minute segment. EY & LowKi pick up the win after Kurt & Bobby were distracted by the BDC. Personally, I was distracted by the fact that Kurt Angle is still alive.

Segment 6 No Wrestle 7:39 Wrestle 3:19 - EC3/JB
At no point did the bell ring to end this match. It really didn't end but it did after Drew Brees or Drew Man or somebody came in to make the save for Spud Webb and J.Bizzle.
So Spud, Borash, and Breesman ran off EC3 and Tyrus. I'm getting pissy.
