 Dolph makes his way to the ring......Dolph climbs in the ring and walks right up to Triple H. Rollins and Orton make a move towards Dolph but HHH tells them to hold their ground. Dolph: "When is enough, enough around here? Two brothers are having a special moment at this point in their careers and for some damn reason you have to come out and turn it into a whole family getting fired if things don't go exactly how you'd like them. That's a bunch of bs." Ziggler continues: "And take it from me, I know exactly how you can pull the rug out from under somebody's special moment. I suffered a severe concussion after winning the title last year and week after week you pressured me into coming back before I was ready. I finally relented and then you sent out your hired henchman to repeatedly attack my head which ended up costing me the title. And now you've gone and done the exact same thing to Daniel Bryan. You're like a cancer that just keeps spreading it's ugly disease." Ziggler moves in closer towards Triple. "You and me at Summerslam". Triple H: "Are you done?" Ziggler: "Yes" Triple H: "Good. So now we have another guy that wants to make his own matches at one of our biggest Events of the year. It's not gonna happen, Dolph. But I tell you what IS gonna happen. Since you're so confident, not too mention your disrespectful big mouth, how about this. And before I say this, let me just point out that we have a bunch of people down in NXT who are not only ready but know how to show a little respect. You are gonna put YOUR career on the line at SummerSlam. And it won't be against me. It'll be against......(Stephanie whispers into HHH's ear)......(Triple H smirks).........Chris Jericho. And if Jericho wants to come out and get lippy, I'll put his career on the line as well." Chris Jericho's music hits........... |

Jericho walks out onto the ramp and declares "I don't have a problem with it."  Triple H can be seen (with a somewhat surprised yet smug look on his face) turning to Steph and mouthing the words "Smart man." Steph has the scrunchy agreeable nod going on. |

For the record, I don't believe that last Jericho blurb came across as clearly as I should've made it. By him coming out and saying "He didn't have a problem with it" was him strictly talking about the match and had nothing to do with his own career being on the line.
In other words, since he didn't come out and get "lippy", the only career on the line in the Ziggler/Jericho match is Dolph's.

Monday Night RAW, August 11th, 8:00 PMGoldust is in the ring. He calls Cody down. Goldust and Cody are now in the ring:  Goldust: "I had to ask Triple H for permission to have this time out here so I guess I'd like to say thank you to him. (Goldust gives that pffft look) I didn't want last week to be our last RAW together, considering how it went down. Anyways Cody, I didn't want it to turn out the way it has. I didn't want to believe it was time. But after you broke away from the team, it was pretty clear who the real problem was. I never wanted to admit it. But I'm no dummy. I've seen the losses pile up. I saw what Jericho said to you. I haven't always seen eye to eye with him but he was right. Hell, he's a 30 time champion between ECW, WCW and the WWE. I'm not ashamed if somebody like that is right. I didn't want to put yours and your family's future on the line. But you know darn well that I'm too proud to just lay down. I'M A RHODES! AND SO ARE YOU! And don't you ever forget that." Cody: "I'm forever grateful for everything you've ever done for me. You didn't put mine or my family's future on the line......Triple H did. Whatever happens, happens. But one thing's for sure, you will always be my brother!" They hug. It's time to bow down to the King. Triple H hits the stage. Triple H: "This is all touching and everything (wiping away a fake tear) but since you wanted to be together for one last time on RAW, I'll oblige. You two are gonna face Randy Orton and Seth Rollins and your match is next!!"

Cody Rhodes & Goldust vs. Randy Orton & Seth Rollins
Incredible back and forth match. About 20 minutes worth of tremendous action. Finally Cody and Goldust appear to have the upper hand as Cody delivers the Disaster Kick, but Orton ducks, and the Disaster Kick inadvertently (apparently) connects on Goldust. Rollins clears Cody from the ring, and Orton pins Goldust for the win..
Goldust and Cody are left staring at each other, wondering, as we go to break.

Ziggler: "That's easy for you to say! Your career isn't on the line. What in the world do you have to lose?" Jericho: "I'm going to tell you something that I've never told anyone before: I need to know if I'm still the best in the world at what I do. Because I've been questioning that ever since last year. I've been second guessing myself ever since suffering the most embarrassing defeat of my career. Some have called it the greatest upset in Wrestlemania™ history. And you are the one directly responsible for that" Ziggler: "You lost to Fandango!! (laughing and pointing at Jericho) But how am I responsible for that?" (still laughing) Jericho: "Is that funny?" Ziggler: "Yes" Jericho: (Getting up in Dolph's grill)"If it wasn't for the grueling match you and I had just days before my match with Fandillydumbo, obviously I would've crushed him. I don't want to make that an excuse but it's just the truth. You gave me a beating and it was one of the toughest matches of my career. And then on top of that, I had let you get into my head. Fandango: (facing Jericho) "Apparently you forgot how to pronounce my name. It's FAN......DAN......." CODEBREAKER!!! followed by this:  Fandango stumbles and bumbles to his feet and then this:  Jericho and Ziggler are left standing and staring at each other as we go to break.........

 August 17th, 2014 - Staples CenterCody Rhodes vs. Goldust opens the show - Starts out with a handshake. Lots of back and forth action. Actually quite stiff at times too. Several nears falls by both of them. They are both dog tired. Finally, Cody hits Goldust with a bulldog from the second rope. He goes for the pin but suddenly hesitates. He seems to be tearing up. This moment of indecision allows Goldust time to stagger to his feet. Cody has now climbed to the top rope and comes off with the crossbody. Again he appears to have Goldust in an imminent pinning position but once again Cody hesitates. Cody is clearly tearing up and clearly torn about what to do next. Once again Goldust clumsily gets to his feet. Cody hits him with Cross Rhodes. Cody starts to pin Goldust but slowly stands up after just a one count. He's shaking his head. Appears to be in utter agony over this situation. He stands there for quite some time. Contemplating. Crying. Goldust inexplicably is back on his feet. Cody sees this and starts to walk out of the ring......then he stops, shakes his head as if to work the cobwebs out and bring himself to his senses, and then suddenly.......Cody hits Goldust with the Beautiful Disaster. This time he follows it with a pin. 1..2..3. Not a dry eye in the house after this one. Goldust's career is over.  |

Later in the show......... Dolph Ziggler vs. Chris Jericho - It's announced that this is now a no disqualification match. Dolph's career is still on the line. Epic back and forth match. Ziggler and Jericho are completely stealing the show. They've hit each other with everything but the kitchen sink. Several near falls as they approach the 30 minute mark of the match. Finally, Ziggler sets up two tables side by side on the floor. He beats Jericho down and places Jericho on the tables. Dolph is exhausted and slowly finds his way to the turnbuckles and begins to climb. By that time, Jericho has somewhat recovered. Jericho slides thru the ropes and climbs the turnbuckles from inside the ring.  Jericho eventually beats Ziggler back down and Dolph crumples to the floor outside. Jericho climbs back out of the ring and finds two more tables. He places them on top of the other side by side tables. Jericho hoists Ziggler up and places his near lifeless body on top of the tables. Jericho heads to the turnbuckles and starts to climb up. It's taking every ounce of energy that Y2J has to get up the ropes. As this is happening, Ziggler is starting to come to life. Jericho has made his way to the top rope as Dolph simultaneously makes his way to the second rope. Ziggler grabs Jericho from behind. Jericho backhands Dolph a few times. Ziggler strikes right back. And then Ziggler lifts Jericho and gives him a backdrop through the 4 tables!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOLY SHIT!!! HOLY SHIT!!! HOLY SHIT!!! HOLY SHIT!!!!! The referee starts to count. 1........2.......3........4......5.......6........Jericho starts to move but barely...........7..........Ziggler starts to move a little.......8...........both men just collapse back down again..........9.............10. Double count out draw!!!!!!! |

Monday Night RAW, August 18 (night after SummerSlam)7:30 Renee Young is backstage and just about ready to interview Dolph Ziggler. Triple H, Stephanie, Rollins and Orton walk into the interview area. Triple H puts his hand out expecting Renee to give him the microphone. She does. Stephaine shoos her away. Triple H: "Hi Dolph. I'm glad I ran into you here because now the whole world can see what a fair guy I really am. Now obviously, your career was on the line last night. What's also obvious is that you didn't win. Then again, as the lawyers told me earlier today, you didn't necessarily lose either. So I tell ya what. Out of the kindness of my heart, I'm going to overlook the fact that you didn't win yet again last night and I'm going to let you keep your job." Triple continues: "But for the life of me, I never thought for a second that an outcome like that could happen. I mean, I've got two "top tier" (Triple clears his throat) talents in the ring and neither one of them have the heart or the courage or the will to tough it out and win the match. (Dolph makes a slight move towards HHH, Orton and Rollins both move a bit towards Ziggler.) But at least I'll give Jericho credit for one thing: What exactly HAVE you done lately around here, Dolph? I give you a platform on one of the biggest stages in wrestling, and you still can't win. There's not a single thing you ever do around here that separates you from pack." Triple is still talking: (He moves in closer pushing his huge nose uncomfortably close to Dolph's.) "But here's the thing. I'm going to make your life a living hell until you start to display some respect around here." Dolph: "I'm looking forward to it."

Because from my perspective I would say clearly not. You can't even beat Dolph Ziggler." Jericho: (still rubbing his neck a little bit from last night's war) "You really underestimate him. He's much, MUCH better than you realize or give him credit for. As for who I can beat or not, you can either have me in your face later tonight or we can do this right now." (Jericho inches closer. I brought the cameras in because just as I did with Dolph, I want to show what a fair and upstanding guy I am, not to mention a man who is true to his word. Now as we all know, you beat your shiny brother last night and he is done with the WWE forever. In fact, tell your pops he can thank me later for the additional bonding time those two will now have." Triple continues: "Anyways, if I could just direct your attention to the monitor for a second...." (Cody turns to look. Orton gives a shitty grin. Stephanie still reminds me of my sister so I'm not looking at her like most would be.) Triple H continues: "Now see?? After you hit him with the bulldog off the ropes? It seems like you could've pinned him right there. But you hesitated. And you hesitated again after hitting the crossbody. You then hit the Cross Rhodes and did nothing about. Finally you hit that Disaster Kick or whatever you call it, and FINALLY, after the FOURTH opportunity, you decide to mercifully end it." H is still going: "Not only are you a monster for destroying your very own brother for an extra 5 minutes and 18 seconds than needed but you also were in clear violation of the "Not giving 100% at all times" rule for 4 minutes and 5 seconds of that match." Still going: "After consultation with our powerful team of lawyers earlier this afternoon, and if you don't mind me borrowing a phrase from somebody, I'm afraid we've got some bad news for you. (Triple H turns to Steph) Steph, is there something you'd like to say to Cody?" Steph takes the mic: Steph: "Why yes there is, Hunter. (She turns to Cody and gets all in his face. And also gets massively scrunchy and say:) Cody Rhodes, YOU'RE........ KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK, after frantic knock after frantic knock........ Stephanie absolutely cannot believe it and STRONGLY urges Randy Orton to "Answer the damn door!!!" Randy answers the door. It's some WWE lackey. Not John but a shlub like guy. The shlub is all beside himself. He says to The Authority, "There's guys in space suits here from the Disease Control and Prevention Center and they have a decree to check the premises for infectious diseases. And they need to check this room right NOW." Triple H: "RIGHT NOW?" (The 3 guys in the hazmat suits all enter the room and are seen nodding) Triple H some more: "ALRIGHT FINE! Triple H turns back to Cody and tersely tells him: "We'll finish this later. In the ring!!"

9:45The Authority is in the ring. Triple H: "Ok, let's just get this over with. I've had my fill of distractions, disappointments and surprises over the last two days to last me a lifetime. Enough's enough. Cody Rhodes, get down here and bring Brandi with you." Cody & Brandi (Eden) Rhodes head to the ring. Triple H: "Now just to reiterate, I'd like to direct your attention to the Titantron, and you can see the exact phrasing I used earlier in the month in regard to the Cody Rhodes/Goldust match" And if I suspect for one second that either one of you aren't giving 100% at all times, I'll fire you both. And if that happens, you can take a certain young lady from NXT with you because she'll be fired too!" Triple still going: "As I established earlier, Cody not only didn't go 100% for the one second stipulated, but he furthermore didn't go 100% for an additional 4 minutes and 4 seconds. As much as it pains us to say this Cody, Brandi.........." Triple H hands the mic to Stephanie. Stephanie: "YOU'RE.........."(She stops herself as she sees what has just hit the stage under the Titantron)

Triple H and Stephanie can't believe their eyes. They are almost beside themselves. The 3 guys in hazmat suits enter the ring. They line up directly across from Triple H (and Randy Orton/Seth Rollins who have both taken a step forward towards the government employees) The hazmat employee across from Triple H hands H a piece of paper. Triple H: "This is just great. What did you find? Are we all in imminent danger of Polio? Are the Measles about to break out further than Sheamus? Ok, Ok let's see what is SO DAMN IMPORTANT that you needed to interrupt the last segment of RAW!!" Triple reading from the paper: "After an exhaustive and extensive search, the CDC finds that the WWE & Monday Night RAW are cleared of potential backstage infectious diseases but are now in potential violation of in ring infectious diseases and must cease and desist immediately." Triple H: "What infectious diseases? What the hell is this?" Hazmat guy across from Triple H steps forward and points to a part of the paper he had handed HHH. Triple H looks and then reads the part Hazmat #1 pointed out to him: Triple H: "There's also a red hot breaker that's about to explode." Triple is still going: "What the hell are you talking about? WHAT BREAKER?!!!" Hazmat #1 motions to Triple H to give him the microphone. Triple H begrudgingly does. Hazmat #1: "THIS ONE!!" CODEBREAKER!!Hazmat #1 suddenly destroys Triple H with what appears to be almost like a Codebreaker. Hazmat #2 subsequently hits Seth Rollins with almost a Zig-Zag kind of move. Hazmat #3 takes a few steps back and does not enter the fracas. Cody Rhodes out of nowhere nails Randy Orton with the Cross Rhodes. Stephanie is off to the side just screaming! Stephanie: "YOU GUYS AREN'T THE CDC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Hazmat #1: "Au contraire, my dear Stephanie. (Takes off his headgear) I'm Chris." Hands the mic to Hazmat #2. Hazmat #2: (Takes off headgear) "And I'm Dolph." (Hands the mic to Cody) Cody Rhodes: "I'm Cody." Stephanie is completely beside herself. She screams at the remaining "hazmat guy". "And just who the hell are you!!!!!!!!!! " Hazmat #3 gestures for Steph's mic. She is thoroughly disgusted and slams it into the chest of the "Hazmat guy." Hazmat #3: "Well, I'm retired now but you might remember me as.................(dramatic pause and takes off his headgear)..............................Goldust!!" (As he blows in Stephanie's face".)  Chris, Dolph and Cody are in the middle of the ring. Goldust and Brandi are in the background giving the three their props. Additional writer's notes: The hazmat suits were a one shot deal and were only used for the surprise element. Going forward, Chris, Dolph, Cody would continue in their normal ring attire.
The "CDC" acronym and the the new theme music would stick.

If TNA hadn't fucked up the whole MVP outside investor thing so recently I'd say they could have Jericho come back with a suit and the whole shtick, and reveal him as the new principle owner who bought all those shares off of steph mcmizzo a while back. a little like Flair coming in in 2001 or 2 or whenever that was.

HAHA oh don't worry about that, no matter how ridiculous this booking got, it didn't have any Nash, any Hardy, any Cena, any Flair, and a whole bunch of Jericho... the 5 things I most look for in a wrestling show.
