Ok people, I don't normally do this but since I like most of you, I'm going to give you some freebies for tomorrow. These do NOT count for the Beat The Book and are merely bonus musings to help you clean up on the big games tomorrow. No need to thank me. Your happiness at the end of tomorrow is enough for me.
TN Titans +2.5 Now don't go crazy on this one. It's just a slight lean. Bills are Jeckyl & Hyde, they're beat up and going with a RB named Boobie, and the Titans have had an extra week to prepare for them.
BAL Ravens -7 Cleveland is terrible. Baltimore is pissed. Bet a year of college tuition on this one.
ATL Falcons -7 The Redskins are horrible. The Falcons are not. Atlanta may win by 35. Cash in what's left of your stocks and put it all on this one. All of it.
NYG Giants -7 Are you kidding me? Is Santa Claus setting the lines? Christmas comes early in this one.

Clearly I must've still been under the weather when making the previous post.

This is not a great Wisconsin team, but it's not even a good Syracuse team, compared to recent years. That showed last night. They almost lost at home to Bonnie a week or so ago, but got some very favorable homer ref calls to bail them out. Last night, without their local refs, they didn't.
What does it take to beat Syracuse? A coach who understands where the seams are in their zone and a team with the patience to find them. Wisconsin did that last night, even with lesser talent. Bo knows. The Badgers shot 48% from two point range and had 16 offensive rebounds. Those two stats show how effective they were at positioning vs. the zone.
I also think Jim Boeheim is one of the most over-rated coaches out there. Sure, he has x hundred wins because he has been successful enough to keep his job. His zone is a puzzle for many coaches and many kids. He has gotten great talent. For years, his non-conference schedule was lame. But one thing has held true...he rarely wins games when he has lesser talent. That to me is the mark of a great coach. Can they win games with inferior talent? Bo did that last night and he will do it again this year.

Wisconsin also turned it over 20 times, that never happens, and still won. Wisconsin was much the grittier team last night, and that was a HUGE win for them.

First and maybe only over/under season wins: Packers under 11 reg season wins -115, 1 unit This looks like the year the Packers slide a bit. Key injuries in preseason, horrible 1st team defense vs Eagles, and of course McCarthy will find a way to lose a game or two as he does every year. They need to win 12 for me to lose this bet and 9-7 seems as likely as 12-4. I will now grab my helmet to withstand the onslaught of cheese thrown at me. Had to wait until the last game to cash this, but even expecting to win this, I never expected the Pack would be swept at home by its division rivals. That's a definite sign of a fall. McCarthy's time at GB ought to be over, but they won 10 games, so he will keep his job. Problem with that is they have a Hall of Fame QB and 13 win talent. Teams with HOF QB's and the best talent in a division rarely under-achieve this badly. If Packers fans want to blame the players or the GM, that's fine. We will bet this again next year. They needed a fluke hail mary to finish 10-6, so my 9-7 prediction was pretty close. One thought...no matter what business you are in, failure to succeed usually is due mostly to the one who manages the workers, not the workers themselves. I think I will go eat some cheese now.

I don't know if I posted this before, but if not, here goes: Republicans to win the 2016 election +140 I bought this at +190 some months ago, but love it maybe even more now at a worse price after the Clinton fiascos already. Pretty simple bet: No way America elects Hillary. Sadly, even a whack job will be our Prez. if the Rs go that way. I still don't think Hillary wins. But I also don't think Trump wins the nomination either. Anybody else except Cruz beats her. I'm still holding out hope that Jeb gets it done once the other "establishment" candidates -- Kasich, Christie, Rubio, Fiorina, etc. -- all drop out. For that to happen, Jeb needs to be the leading vote getter of that group in New Hampshire. It will be interesting to see how many Trumpets show up Monday night in Iowa for the caucuses. My off the wall prediction: Trump does not win Iowa and he fires people on his staff for not getting his "supposed supporters' to show up. He believes the crowds at his events represent support and the polls are accurate. I don't. I have spoken to several people who have attended events in Iowa. They have gone to Trump events because they are a spectacle. They have no intention of voting for him. And the people who say they support him have, in most cases, never been to a caucus in their lives (only about 5% of Iowa Republicans typically show up in caucuses). The long-time, old time Republicans who have always gone to caucuses will go. And they are not Trump supporters. Jeb is not out of this yet, though Rubio is still probably in front of Jeb.
