Solid show.
Naito becomes first NJPW Triple Crown winner by beating Elgin for the Intercontinental Title.
The New Japan-NOAH "feud" continues with Okada and Marifuji leading the respective charges.
Captain New Japan joins the Bullet Club.

Haven't watched yet, will check it out today or tomorrow. But Captain New Japan in the BC? Not thrilled with that one.
Omega, Bucks, Cole, Fale, Tonga, Takahashi, Page should be the BC and that's it.
I do understand they need BC reps when the American guys aren't there, but still, odd choice.

I think it's just a way to get a feud between him and YOSHI-HASHI.
He'll be like nWo Virgil.

I'm watching the match where Cody Hall got the stinger. I guess I'm old school because I don't get the Bucks.

He's got his work cut out for him to get over in Japan.

Agreed, but I think he has enough charisma & in ring skill to do so. I have hope for him that they use him as a strong member of the BC instead of a lackey.
Make him a player right out of the gate (1 or 2 matches in).

He'll have to come in and take out a top guy to make an impact. Kind of like AJ did.

I'd like him to immediately go after Tanahashi/Naito or, what's the Juniors weight limit? Cody is 220. I suppose he could go after Kushida/Kamaitachi. Take the route Omega took to main event.
I'd love to see Cody in a G1.

Cody vs Juice Robinson announced for WK. Would've liked a higher profile match for him, but I'm fine with it. Juice Robinson has been teaming with Tanahashi lately, maybe that will work into it somehow?
They announced a full card too. O''Reilly/Cole for ROH title also on the card.

Here's the entire Wrestle Kingdom 11 card on January 4th. It's not as snazzy as other years, but I have a feeling this will be an insane show.
IWGP Heavyweight Title Kazuchika Okada vs Kenny Omega
IWGP Intercontinental Title Tetsuya Naito vs Hiroshi Tanahashi
NEVER Openweight Title Katsuyori Shibata vs Hirooki Goto
IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title Kushida vs Hiromu Takahashi (Kamaitachi)
IWGP Tag Titles Tama Tonga & Tanga Roa vs Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma
ROH World Title Kyle O'Reilly vs Adam Cole
Cody Rhodes vs Juice Robinson
Gauntlet Match for NEVER Openweight 6-Man Title David Finlay, Ricochet & Kojima vs Bad Luck Fale, Adam Page & Takahashi vs Tomohiro Ishii, Will Ospreay & YOSHI-HASHI vs Bushi, Evil & Sanada
IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Titles The Young Bucks vs Roppongi Vice
Tiger Mask W (Kota Ibushi) vs Tiger the Dark
Pre Show New Japan Rumble

I wish Cody could've been held off until he showed up in person. And then get involved with someone other than Juice.
Oh well.
He can tag with Cody Hall when he's ready to come back.

See I'm in the camp of hoping they keep Cody away from the B-Team Bullet Club members (Chase Owens, Cody Hall, Takahashi, Bone Soldier, even Page). Of course have them be lackeys, but I don't want Cody to get stuck being a tag guy right out the gate.
I think Juice/Cody will be a good match, but it's not really the big debut you'd hope for.

Holy shit. Cody Hall is still hurt? I thought that was just a scare?!? Cody (Rhodes) absolutely needs to be presented as a top guy.

The Cody Hall line was a rib. Cody Squared. I did some research and it said Cody (Hall) hasn't worked since the Bucks incident.

I seriously had no clue. After the initial scare, I thought he was OK. I even called it a "stinger" the other day.

So is Wrestle Kingdom at 2 am our time (central) overnight tonight? Or overnight tomorrow? Just making sure.
Might try to stay up for some of it. The very least the first few matches. The Rumble was so random last year it was pretty entertaining.
Will watch the rest later.

So I'm just making sure & everywhere I've looked up is confusing as hell. So the pre-show starts at 2am central? Or does the pre-show start a hour before then?
I'm going to sleep at like 930 tonight & setting my alarm to catch some of the first few matches.
I won't post anything on the board then to keep it spoiler free.
Oh and my picks are.... Tiger Mask W (Kota Ibushi) Cody Young Bucks Chaos Adam Cole (mainly because KOR hasn't re-signed to ROH yet, but if he does win this match, we'll know he's resigned) Ishii/Yano Takahashi Shibata Naito Omega

Starting late & just watched the Rumble. Won't tell you who wins, but here's the entrants in case you were debating watching this. It's pretty fun. Corino & Kelly are great.
1. Michael Elgin 2. Billy Gunn 3. Bone Soldier 4. Cheeseburger 5. Jushin Liger 6. Kobayashi 7. Tiger Mask 8. Nakanishi 9. Taguchi 10. Yoshi Tatsu 11. Yuji Nagata 12. Hiroyoshi Tenzan 13. Hiro Saito 14. Scott Norton (who looks like he hasn't aged a day)

Really enjoying the show thus far. Cody just wrestled Juice. He's an excellent heel. Aside from one move, the match was good. Look forward to seeing what he does from here in NJPW.
Cole vs KOR for the ROH title up next.

I went 6-4 for my picks. There were some surprise wins for sure.
The last 4 match stretch with Omega/Okada, Tanahashi/Naito, Kushida/Takahashi & Goto/Shibata were absolutely amazing.
Corino/Kelly were fantastic the entire show. That's how commentary is done. For damn near 5 hours.
