Kenny fucking flew into that table.

Highly suggest checking out Kushida/Takahashi, Shibata/Goto & Naito/Tanahashi as well. The final 4 matches were fantastic in different ways.

The whole show is fun. Top to bottom. So I'd suggest checking the whole show out.

Couldn't stop laughing at Corino fawning over the ladies that Yujiro brought out with the Bullet Club in the gauntlet match. 2 of the girls looked hot, others, yeesh, not so much.

Meltzer gave Omega/Okada 6 stars. He said it may have been the greatest pro wrestling match in history.

It's arguably the greatest New Japan match I've watched. And I've seen some fucking amazing matches too.

Seeing as Okada will be feuding with Suzuki for at least the next few months, it makes sense for him to take some time off, which he deserves for sure. I honestly don't see him going to WWE. I mean, they'd be smart to throw as much money at him as possible, but he's publicly stated recently he doesn't want to be just another guy in WWE.

I think Omega will be NJPW Heavyweight Champ by the time G1 rolls around.

I need to watch it but it's hard for me to wrap my head around this being the best wrestling match of all time. Did it just have the best spots of all time? Two totally different things.

I'm literally watching the match again, after I responded, but with Japanese commentary, as I have only watched with English. Nothing against Corino & Kelly, who were fantastic this whole card, but Japanese commentary is the way to go with this match.

This is truly a masterpiece. It in no way feels like 45 minutes. Plus if you know the backstory with the amazing performances Kenny put in to win the G1 to earn this shot, it's even better.

The amount of crescendo's this match has is fucking incredible.

Taker vs Shawn 1 was better.
Kevin Kelly was horrible on commentary.

Cyrus is replacing Steve Corino on the English commentary for New Japan. I think he starts at the New Beginning shows.

I liked the match more with Japanese commentary. Do I know what they are saying, hell no, but it was more entertaining to me. I actually really enjoyed Kevin Kelly on the call though, 5,000 times better than anything you'll hear in the WWE.

I'm def not going to criticize anyone who thinks it should've been shorter, but I really liked the match length. Just when you think they were going home, they kicked it into another gear. It didn't seem like just another great New Japan match, it was on a whole other level.

I'm not saying it was better than Shawn/Taker, but star ratings aside, I'm sticking with what I said, it's one of the greatest matches I've ever seen & possibly the greatest New Japan match.

6 stars I've heard said is saying that it is so over the top better than any match in its time that it can't be rated the same.

I can see that.

Meltzer also gave a Steamboat/Flair match 6 stars back in the 80s too (one he said was even better than the Chi-Town Rumble). So this isn't the first time. It's just the more publicized one.

I totally get people thinking it's silly, but Dave thought it was better than even a 5 star match. So I'm cool with it.

If 5 stars is the max, you can't make up some shit and give it 6 stars. He's such a putz. He's no different than movie reviewers or any other type of reviewer. Everyone's tastes are different. I put zero weight into reviews. Some people tell me Super Troopers is awesome. I thought it was the worst movie that I had ever seen until I saw Good Burger. And hell, some people like that as well.
