If for anything else, I'll miss the Slater Gator entrance theme. So had assault claims never been made against Slater, we would never have had Kidd/Cesaro as a team? Hmmm..
Know who could've also filled the void (if you can call it that) left by Slater Gator as a heel team? NEW DAY!!!! Gaaahhh I'm still annoyed they're faces.

In a post on his official Facebook page, former Road Warrior member, Road Warrior Animal, posted a response to The Ascension’s recent Raw promo that took a shot at the team. You can read his statement below:
“The idiots in charge make the call everyone knows how stupid it is to copy icons yet they still do it. Do it in a mocking fashion to get heat I understand do it in a disrespectful way well that’s another issue that’s low and has no place in the business.
Where does it end and I usually are just are playing when I comment but this one is a shoot I believe they should have had Me Animal find a team. For some undetected odd reason they don’t do it. They missed the boat with Ascension and they missed it when my brother John was in the ring both great times to bring me in and they missed it.
They need to go to their merchandise numbers today and see we rank up with the main roster on selling merchandise for a reason.
Oh what a rush.”

Whoa....
WWE announced today that Michael Cole, JBL, and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T will be the announcers going forward on Monday Night Raw. We noted earlier today that Booker was going to be flown into Raw on Monday so this is not a surprise. The decision must have been made very recently because the plan was for Lawler to return to Raw when he was fully recovered.

During a commercial for NXT, they announced that Daniel Bryan will return to the ring to wrestle on next week's Smackdown which will be the first Smackdown on Thursday night on Syfy.

Brock Lesnar was voted Wrestler of the Year for 2014 in the year-end poll of Pro Wrestling Illustrated readers. Lesnar competed in just four matches in 2014, but they were enough to convince 30 percent of those voting that he was worthy of the honor for the second time in his career. Lesnar made history by ending The Undertaker's WrestleMania unbeaten streak in April and then beat John Cena for the WWE World heavyweight title at SummerSlam in August in perhaps the most lopsided WWE title match ever. Lesnar was followed in the voting by Daniel Bryan (23%), AJ Styles (17%), and John Cena (16%).
Lesnar's total ring time for 2014 was 61 minutes and 49 seconds.

The situation with Jerry Lawler was serious for a couple of days but he didn’t have to get surgery. As I noted yesterday, Lawler has been in Florida this week on vacation with his girlfriend. The company had talked about replacing Lawler with Booker T in the past so the diverticulitis issue did not play a part in the announce team changes that were announced yesterday.
Booker T was moved to Raw because they liked his work on the pre-show. There are people in the company that like the move because he would offset some of JBL’s “nonsene” on commentary and they felt that Lawler was getting redundant. The decision to put Booker on Raw was made just hours before the announcement was made publicly. Also, Lawler was told that he was needed on Smackdown because he could help get the show over as more important. The company wants the show to get over a 2.5 rating on a regular basis. Also, the company felt that Lawler would have more energy on a 2 hour show. We’ll see how long this lasts but the idea right now is for Booker to be more serious and be more “sports like” instead of the back and forth banter that you hear with Cole, JBL, and Lawler.
The company is thinking about doing a “soft” brand split with some talent that is exclusive to each brand. That was part of their sales pitch when they were in talks about moving Smackdown to SyFy. SyFy was told that the show would be treated as a bigger deal.

- Former WWE creative team member Brian Maxwell Mann noted on twitter that Daniel Bryan was supposed to come out as gay back in 2010. According to Mann, the USA Network wanted WWE to introduce a positive gay character. The whole Bella Twins angle with Daniel Bryan triangle was supposed to lead to Bryan coming out as gay.
That explains why the storyline fell apart at the end. For those that might not remember, the storyline was that the Bella Twins would hit on Bryan each week but he didn’t seem to like them that way. The whole thing ended with Bryan revealing that he was dating Gail Kim for 6 months and that he was a vegan.

I do remember the double date Bryan went on with EC3 & the Bellas. He & EC3 were pretty damn funny. Hard to imagine how he'd work with that gimmick though.

According to The Wrestling Observer, when Bray Wyatt defeated Dean Ambrose in an Ambulance Match on Raw last week, some people backstage in WWE took the clean win as a sign that top-level WWE Execs feel Undertaker is ready to compete at WrestleMania 31.
Others in the company took the win as a sign that Dean Ambrose might be turning heel soon, but the likely reason why Wyatt won the match so decisively is because WWE wants him to look like a serious threat to The Undertaker at ‘Mania.

It would really be nice if WWE wasn't so hard up for ratings that they could save certain things for the show and surprise the hell out of us.
If you want to avoid a rather large spoiler supposedly set for Raw tonight, then I suggest staying off social media and any wrestling related sites.
