With the historic announcement yesterday of ROH coming to Destination America, Ring of Honor COO Joe Koff appeared with 411Mania’s Greg DeMarco on the Greg DeMarco Show to discuss their new television partner. Below are some of the highlights: How the Destination America deal came about: “Unlike other wrestling promotions we’re a broadcasting company and we have a different kind of rolodex. We were able to make a contact at Destination America. They’re great people and they’re wrestling fans… One of the things we talked about is what a tremendous two-three punch we could give that network if they had both Ring of Honor and Impact Wrestling.” If Samoa Joe will still be able to appear on ROH television with the new deal: “We have not heard otherwise, so I don’t have the answer for you. We have contracts—they have contracts. I’m hoping that since he was able to take our booking when we had a TV program with significant coverage. I don’t know at this point, I am counting on him to be on TV with us as long as he appears with us, but I guess we’ll find out.” If fans can still watch the weekly television show on the ROH website: “Absolutely. It’s really well thought out by both parties. Our programs are weekend programs that primarily air on our Sinclair stations plus our syndicated partners on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. The Destination America program will be available at 8 o’clock… with the same program. We’ve expanded our footprint significantly with the Destination America clearance… it’s a win-win for everybody.” How Ring of Honor kept the deal from leaking out: “I’m proud of it, quite frankly. It’s something I’ve always done throughout my whole career. There are certain things that are best kept out of the press and I have a terrific inner circle—the people I work with and the people I trust—understand the importance of that from my perspective. I think specifically for this deal a well it was really important due to the fact that another wrestling promotion was on Destination America. I’m all about Ring of Honor—doing the best thing for our company is our main focus. It was an important deal for both parties and I am really proud of the fact that we were able to get through the announcements without it getting leaked out.” The entire episode can be heard here: www.stitcher.com/podcast/voc-nation-radio-network/voc-nation-vault/e/38245924?autoplay=true

This is why I'm dubious when it comes to Meltzer. I mean is there ANY scenario that's not covered here??
Details On Destination America's Deal With Ring Of Honor Posted By: Jason Patrick on Jun 03, 2015 Source: Wrestling Observer
The idea behind the Destination America deal with Ring of Honor is that it could go one of three ways. If Ring of Honor, as the lead-in to Impact Wrestling can draw good ratings and if the TNA/Destination America situation remains the same, then Destination America will continue as planned and announce Impact Wrestling's cancellation in August for the final quarter of the year starting in September. Ring of Honor, which is signed for December, will then have a two to three month run as the sole wrestling program on the station which will be an experiment to see if it can hold its own without Impact in prime time. If Impact Wrestling's ratings are more significant than ROH's then it is plausible that Destination America will not renew ROH in December and instead either change their mind on Impact or continue with its plan to cancel it. If both produce strong ratings than the three hour wrestling block will have worked and both may remain on the station.
Ring of Honor has some leverage as it's the cheaper promotion to have. Ring of Honor is produced by Sinclair Broadcasting for SBG channels which can be seen in 41% of the United States. ROH begins on NESN (New England Sports Network) this Saturday which gives it a 44% presence on syndication and a 51% presence on cable because of Destination America. ROH is significantly cheaper to produce as its not original programming. A television executive Dave Meltzer spoke to said that ROH has been speaking to a number of cable networks about getting the show on-air under a barter deal where they provide the programming at little to no cost but keep a part of the commercial advertising revenue.
A Ring of Honor representative has said that they will further improve the production of the show for TV tapings and pay-per-view starting at their New York City events on 6/20 and 6/21, the latter being their first TV taping with the Destination America exposure which will be heavily promoted as they now have foresight available to them.

– Ring of Honor’s debut on Destination America are in. The episode scored 163,000 viewers and a 0.04 rating in the 18 – 49 demographic.
For those curious, the numbers are lower than Impact Wrestling’s Wednesday debut by 45% and 55%, respectively. Impact scored 232,000 viewers and a 0.09 demo rating.
A bright point for Ring of Honor is that their 11 PM replay scored 110,000 viewers and a 0.03 demo rating, compared to the 85,000 and 0.03 that last week’s 11 PM Impact replay did. Impact’s midnight replay scored 72,000 viewers and a 0.02 demo rating.

Did they honestly expect a big number with less than a week promotion? They also shouldn't be comparing the two shows already. DVR numbers I'm sure effect it too. Blackhawks game was on, I know I watched that THEN I watched ROH. Skipped TNA altogether.
The sad part is TNA went from having a million viewers to 200,000.
Here's hoping ROH's audience will grow. They deserve success. TNA meanwhile, eh.

With Ring of Honor now airing on Destination America, and the network wanting an improved look for the show, there will now be an increase in production values at ROH live TV tapings.
In related news, Destination America and Ring of Honor officials are reportedly in talks about doing ROH live specials for the network. The talk right now is of running one or two per year.

You folks are in for a treat on Wednesday if this is the episode they show. I won't spoil any details, just the basics. Show starts out with Roderick Strong vs. Nakamura. (And mind you, many a person has said that Roderick Strong has put on the strongest (no pun intended) matches of any individual in any fed in all of 2015) And as if you needed any reminder, Nakamura continues to be the greatest thing in all of wrestling not named Kevin Owens or Dalton Castle.

I'm not sure if these matches were from Global Wars Night 2 or if they did a separate tv taping with the exact same matches.
