It's what I thought would happen from the start (before the whole Marty signed an extension with ROH and will be done before this show). Glad they didn't force the MJF match for this show. Let it happen down the line.
Not sure how Goldy will hold up, but this match should be friggin overflowing with emotion.
Can't wait to see it.

It's a really smart move. The show is already sold and this wouldn't be a big headline draw. But it will be cool as fuck and huge for the show.

Now scheduled for Starrcast: Bret Hart and Tom McGee live together to discuss their match.

Apparently somebody at WWE found a Bret vs. Tom Magee tape in the archives, but it's not that match. The infamous match is from 1986. The one that was found is from 1989. I still look forward to seeing it though.

Once Mary Kate found the holy grail tape & posted a gif of it, WWE posted a Tom McGee vs Ted Dibiase match on the Network from 89. Total nothing match but it's in the Hidden Gems section if you're looking for it.
Mary Kate needs to make it available somehow some way. I'd assume she'll be at Starrcast. That'd be a perfect time to show it to a few people. Especially with Bret & Tom there.

At a Southern Honor Wrestling indy show in Marietta Georgia tonight, all that was advertised AEW wise was an appearance by Cody & Pharaoh. This was Cody's last indy stop.
Chris Jericho showed up and was attacked by Kenny Omega.
I love this kind of stuff. I know it won't happen much longer once AEW really gets going but these random pop ins from these guys on lower tier indies makes it really a question where they'll pop up next.
Good for them.

Latest Road to Double or Nothing had Jericho in Cody's office doing some heel shenanigans.
We find out Dustin Thomas, the wrestler with no legs from Joey Janela's Spring Break will be in the Battle Royal (yes, I'm thinking what you're thinking and no they didn't mention how he'd be eliminated). Cody said the winner will get a shot at the newly crowned AEW World Champion.
Also we get a great PAC promo. And the ladies in a bikini photo shoot.

The angle at today's WrestleGate show in Nottingham, England involving Pac and Hangman Page was done largely to present the match that had been built up because the match won't be taking place at Double or Nothing on Saturday.
The official word from AEW is that there were creative differences regarding the match and Pac won't be on Saturday's show. With Pac's regular matches in the U.K., it's known that beacuse he takes his status as world champion with Dragon Gate seriously, he has not agreed to any losses since winning the Open the Dream Gate title and to protect that has done 30:00 draws with Zack Sabre Jr. and Will Ospreay. On the flip side, AEW wants to present a sports-like atmosphere and had their own direction for what they wanted.
The Pac vs. Page match will be released this week on the Internet by AEW with the idea that everyone can see the match, even if it had a DQ finish, for free, so fans are getting the hyped up match. Page agreed to fly to England and do the match to make up for the hyped match not happening on the PPV. Page will be wrestling against a new opponent, although the name probably won't be announced before the PPV show. The DQ finish kept things open ended enough that Pac may be back with the promotion at some point to face Page, although there is no definitive time frame.
There will be at least one more announcement made midweek regarding Saturday's show.

Well on one hand, I see PAC's point in wanting to be a strong champ for DG, so he takes losses seriously (something not done pretty much anywhere else not named NJPW). The other, you've built this match for months and now you decide not to do it a week out? Don't like that.
You could just have a non finish. It could lead to a story when you're on TV and be able to build to another match. If you put on a great match with say a double countout (both men exhausted, unable to get up in the ring), you build to something bigger.
But with this being how PAC is, will he ever lose in AEW now? Hell, will he even be in AEW now?
Moxley does seem like the best fitting opponent for Hangman tbh. Hangman did he wanted to fight for the first AEW title. This would put Moxley right in that picture too.

PAC seems difficult. Reminds me of Aries in some respects.

Yeah it's strange to have this happen a week out.

Ric Flair pulls out of Starrcast II roast. Health related? Or Vince related? He had surgery today. Probably not wise for him to fly to Vegas on Friday. I'm supposed to meet him in 2 weeks, holding out hope that still happens, but it's looking less likely. Bummed but his health is obviously more important. I just hope if I don't meet him I get refunded my money.

So here's a question. As y'all know by now, I'm definitely not a jumpy, flippy, kicky kinda guy. Maybe in bed but not so much from a viewing wrestling standpoint. So let's say they get a 2 hour show on a weekly basis. What percentage of those 2 hours do you suspect will be jumpy, flippy, kicky?

I'm not into the flip-de-do shit either, and honestly it's a legit concern for me also. I mean, I don't necessarily hate it and there is a place for guys like the Bucks, Ospreay, etc.; but if every match looks overly-choreographed like a Johnny Impact or Finn Balor match, I will lose interest in AEW very quickly.
