I like Big Dave on Twitter and in the writings of the Observer. I can't stand listening to him though on podcasts and the like. He's just not a polished speaker in the least.

I've tried listening to him and Alvarez on Youtube a few times lately and each time I turned it off within 5 minutes. He's constantly smacking his lips and making other gross sounds with his mouth. Also sounds like he swallows after every sentence.

Yea, I have no problem shitting on Cornette either. I will say though, it seemed like Meltzer seeked this fight out, not the other way around. Meltzer has gotten really weird since AEW started. He seeks a lot of AEW fights out. I’ve never considered him a “journalist” - because he’s not. But he has taken “whatever he is” to a whole new place since AEW was out on the map. They have him around their finger because they worship him or their incredibly smart to have him in their pocket. It’s a Trump/Fox News relationship the two have. Somehow I lost more respect for Meltzer since AEW started because of outside of New Japan, he’s been pretty good to not be overly influenced by promotions - just people. |
