Bryan had 4 words and then Dave went stream-of-consciousness for 20 minutes nonstop. Haha.

I need a translator for that shit. Dave should only express his thoughts in print.

randomone, could you ask your people why Tony Khan is putting on muscle and doing heel promos on other programming? The only acceptable answer is working on health. Thanks.

I agree that they have way too many people on TV for a 2 hour program. Too many factions, too many brawlings that lead to matches the following week. Come up with something original to book a match the next show. WWE has thrown in the towel on that concept years & years ago and their product has become nearly unwatchable (RAW has entirely). Tony doing heel promos on Impact is pretty funny to me. It's the only bit of Impact I watch and that's just because it gets posted to Twitter.
I also don't think Dave checks out Dark or Elevation because him saying things like the Max Caster vs Hangman match tomorrow makes no sense isn't true. Caster has beaten 5, 10, Alex Reynolds & Colt Cabana on the Dark shows and said he's running through the Dark Order and called out Hangman. So it absolutely makes sense for a match like this to happen. Caster has been undefeated since the ladder match and has 4 wins over Dark Order guys, so of course he makes sense to face Hangman.

Bryan had 4 words and then Dave went stream-of-consciousness for 20 minutes nonstop. Haha. He picks weird times to go off on something. Like apparently last night on RAW (didn't see it) but Kofi whipped a microphone at Omos and commentary said it was a fastball. Dave on last nights WOR went off about how it wasn't thrown that hard and also Omos didn't sell it. Bryan tried to tell him that Omos is a monster and shouldn't be selling anything, even though Kofi threw the mic pretty hard. Dave was having none of it, to the point where Bryan gave up and just said agree to disagree.

I'd give it 4.25 if it were me. It was nowhere near 5 stars and I honestly liked Britt/Rosa (which Dave gave 4.75) more because of how unique the match was for women (yes it happens all the time for men, but never for women, at least on mainstream TV). I know the Britt/Rosa match isn't everyone's cup of tea, but that's another thread.
If anything, I thought Sasha & Bianca could've gone like 7 more minutes. It was almost as if they were about to kick it into another gear and it just ended (and even threw off robot Michael Cole). 17 minutes though it solid, but it flew by, which is a testament to them. A part of me was happy they didn't do false finishes galore, but then again, it's Mania, so I was hoping.
I thought it was better than Seth/Cesaro and Riddle/Sheamus, which also both got 4 stars, but not better than Roman/Edge/Bryan, which got 4.5, the highest rated Mania match.

Charlotte Flair, well said.

What was she responding to? On Observer Radio, Dave mentioned the reason she was storyline suspended is she’s getting dental work done and said one of the negatives in wrestling is they make females really subconscious about their looks and feel they need to get stuff done. In one case I see his point, we’ve seen a lot of these girls get work done (in Charlottes case, she’s had a lot) when they are on TV and it’s really unnecessary. Whether it be nose jobs, massive boob jobs, lip fillers, etc. On the other hand, it’s their decision, so why judge that? If they feel pressured into getting a bunch of work done, it’s ultimately their call. You could tell Dave was treading lightly because of the ridiculous Peyton Royce comments years ago that landed him in hot water. He said he thought she was more attractive in NXT before she felt the need to get surgery done for the main roster and also she was “more lighter” in NXT. He was flat out wrong with that one (see, I can actually say that!) Charlotte has had like a crazy amount of surgeries since 2015 though.

I did search for her to find out what was up and found her response to the audio. Dave wasn't wrong. Charlotte just is unhappy with herself.

Never thought I'd find myself on the same side of an argument as Madden, but I agree with him here.
Star ratings are subjective, but Dave clearly has a bias. I love AEW too, but c'mon...there were no 5-star matches on Full Gear. There were MAYBE two 4-star matches.

The new high is 7 stars, right?
So I could believe there were some 5 star matches based on a 7 star scale.

Chris Van Vliet is correct.
I understand Dave's star ratings are just one man's opinion, but when your platform is as big as his, and your biases are displayed so openly and freely, your credibility can and should be questioned.
I love AEW as much as anyone but there's no way in hell there have been more than 4 or 5 five-star matches in their two year existence.

In my opinion I’d say there’s around 10 five stars in AEW
The lack of 5 stars in TNA I don’t agree with. There should be more. I don’t know what they are but I AJ vs Joe vs Daniels are one. I can only assume the brain dead booking and nonsense that overflowed in TNA might’ve been a reason? That’s me grasping straws there. The X Division had more than 2 five stars.
World title scene in TNA wasn’t really overflowing with match of the year dudes though, it’s really the X Division fellas that would’ve put on 5 star matches

How are the Young Bucks the tag team of the year? You don't think they had a hell of a run in 2021 prior to dropping the titles to the Lucha Bros? What team had a better year?

I guess they had a decent run. But fuck it seemed like they all of their matches were full of garbage.
I guess I can't really complain about that.
