Won't be for another week or so but give me some ideas on how this works.
Is this an all-time thing or is it just current wrestlers?

If I have the ability to draft any wrestler from any era to build a territory and make money I am taking the same squad because who I view as best of all time is also who I want to be in my promotion. |

Had an avalanche of thoughts just now while I was in the shower. (Most were about Anna Jay but anywho)
I think the Draft should include the following (can certainly be tweaked)
1 President
1 Play by play announcer
1 Color commentator
1 referee
1 ring announcer
1 backstage interviewer
etc......
just throwing it out there.

There was a thing I did on another board like 8-9 years ago where we did Be The Booker and we had a 20-30 person draft and you could draft your dream roster, then commentators, president, etc. For a while I had Bob Sagat from Full House as my commissioner, haha. It ultimately changed to Bischoff though (as my promotion was WCW).
You could have Marko Stunt, Andre the Giant, Lou Thesz all in the same roster if you so choose.
It was fun.

More thoughts while I was shopping at Piggly Wiggly.
I think the territories should be 50 people. (These are all subject to change of course)
Of those 50:
7 or so would be announcers, ref, backstage interviewer, President etc...
Somewhere between 3-5 managers/valets
Somewhere between 5-10 tag teams. These must be traditional tag teams though. (Young Bucks, Midnight Express, High Flyers, Motor City Machine Guns etc....) NOT teams like Hogan/Macho, Triple H/Austin..... Basically the criteria will come down to whether or not the particular wrestler is better known for their singles career or their tag team.
30 or so wrestlers. 5 of which must be women. 5 of which must be current and 30 or under yrs old.

Can't really do traditional or snake draft. Almost has to be first come, first serve. Otherwise you could literally end up waiting for days for someone to pick.

We could also break it up into days with time periods. For example, rounds 4-6 will be Thursday from 8 PM-9 PM. Just an example. I think this idea could be shitloads of fun and worth putting the extra time in. But it shouldn't require ignoring work. |

Are we going to allow a heel and a face version of a wrestler (i.e. Hollywood Hogan v Hulk Hogan) to be available or can a wrestler be picked only once?
Also, if I pick Harlem Heat for my tag team, does that make Booker T unavailable in the singles division?

My thoughts on it are one and done. Hogan is Hogan. One guy, every gimmick.
Also I’d say drafting Harlem Heat means you get Book & Stevie. Someone else can’t pick Booker singles.
Unless they pick Booker first as a singles, then you’re screwed on Harlem Heat.

We define categories like we would positions in fantasy football, ie Top Guys, Tag Teams, Managers, Mid card, jobbers, etc. Then how many of each you can pick. 5 top guys per team, 5 tag teams, 2 jobbers, 10 midcarders, etc. That would make it more strategic I think and help see who you need to pick based on others picks, just like a FF draft.

I still think the total needs to be more around 49 or 50. I like the two announcers, 1 authority figure, 1 backstage interviewer I'd still like to see 1 ref, 1 ring announcer. I do like the celebrity option. But we also need managers! |
