I like that a lot drebin. But we'll need to make one more pick to get to 40. Although I do fucking LOVE jack's idea of drafting jobbers. I say we scrap backstage interviewer and add in 2 jobbers.
20 male wrestlers (singles only) 10 female wrestlers 5 tag teams 2 announcers 2 jobbers 1 authority figure = 40 overall picks
I still think the total needs to be more around 49 or 50. I like the two announcers, 1 authority figure, 1 backstage interviewer I'd still like to see 1 ref, 1 ring announcer. I do like the celebrity option. But we also need managers! Forgot about the managers. If we include the jobber slot, do they have to be known as a jobber or can I pick someone and put them in that slot? |

You can't pick say Shelton Benjamin and put him in the jobber spot, even though for like 5 years Shelton was a job guy on low level WWE shows.
I'd say we're talking Mike Sharpe, Duane Gill, Barry Hardy, Barry Horowitz, that level.

If people would have a hard time thinking of that many kinds of jobbers, I'd say make it 2 jobbers and 7 tag teams then.
People are going to have to dig deep on some of these for sure.

Tag teams get a bit tricky. There's plenty of obvious ones and then there's shades of gray. Like Edge & Christian for instance. I think in their case, you could take them as a tag team or as singles.
I guess the only ones off the top of my head that I would have a problem with would be Hogan/Macho, Stone Cold/Triple H, Omega/Adam Page.

Build A Territory RULES
- Once you draft someone, every version of that person is off the board. For instance, if you draft Edge, someone else can't draft Edge & Christian. If you draft Hulk Hogan, someone else can't draft Hollywood Hogan.
- If you draft someone like Jesse Ventura or Gorilla Monsoon or Bobby Heenan etc... please specify if you're drafting them as an announcer, wrestler, manager etc.....
- Draft will be first come first serve.
- Draft rounds will last 2 hours. All 7 days of the Draft will utilize the following times: 8am, 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, 8pm (As always, if you miss a round you can make it up at your convenience)
- Draft will start on Monday March 22nd at 8am and run thru Sunday March 28th at 10pm
- Under this format, tag teams obviously count as a single categorical pick.
- ALL wrestling personnel EVER are eligible
- You can draft whoever you want whenever you want. (as long as you follow the above rules haha) What I'm trying to say is that you don't have to fill a requirement before moving on to the next category. If you want to draft an announcer with your first pick, great. Wrestler with your first pick, great. Totally up to you. As long as you fill all 49 specific slots by the time the draft is over. Strategy will be of the utmost importance in this draft.
- Trades are allowed but not particularly encouraged. (That's a lot of work for me!) But if you so desire, go for it. Picks and/or personnel can be traded as long as it's an even number. For instance you can't trade 3 future picks for 2 future picks etc... would have to be 2 for 2 etc..
- The following are not allowed to be drafted as a tag team: Stone Cold/Triple H & Hogan/Macho. The reason is I'm trying to avoid roster stacking. Each of those 4 were FAR more known for their singles career vs tag careers. There may be others that I add to this list.
- Tag teams don't necessarily have to be just men but I'm assuming they will be.
- All other shenanigans will be met by the heavy hand of KS. This whole thing is as straightforward as it gets, Don't be a penile.

I think the biggest/funnest thing of this Draft is the narrative. The reasoning. I'm looking forward to why you took someone, how they fit into your territory and what you have planned for them.

This Draft actually incorporates everybody's ideas. For instance, drebin was originally looking for a certain number of heels/faces etc... and there exists the possibility of doing exactly that. Take the tag teams for example. There's 6 of them. You could easily specify if you want 3 of them to be face & 3 of them to be heel. You don't have to specify anything other than meeting the required 49 slots but as I said before, half of the fun of this Draft will be explaining your decisions and where each pick fits into the future of your territory.

It also incorporates jackref's system. You have 24 men's wrestlers to work with. You could develop a Heavyweight division, midcard, cruiserweight, whatever.
It's one thing to fill the requirements but as I keep saying, the most fun & interesting stuff will be if you decide to explain why you're doing what you do. But again, you don't have to explain anything if you don't feel like it. You can pick all 49 picks and not give a single fuck or reason as to why you did it.
