Hopefully they have a remote I can get to. Hopefully we aren't a couple of grown ass men weeping in front of other weeping grown ass men. Because let's face it, there won't be many women around. Maybe Peach and a promotions girl.

As a huge fan of the Heavy Fuel Cruel, Terry was always one of my favorite hosts. Unfortunately the combination of his obvious laziness as he got older and bad pairing with Bernstein, I just stopped listening for several years. I didn't like the increasing negative tone with callers and guests, and really a jaded view of the sports landscape especially as it respects college athletics. He turned from being entertaining and fun to something much darker. It was time for him to go maybe 3-5 years ago.
So in some ways, I think Karma has worked its magic on Terry where all the people he treated like crap in recent years, the anger and hate towards certain sports figures, it all caught up with him.
I put a lot of thought into it last night, and I wish him well. Whether he deserves it or not, I will not stoop down to his level and harbor ill feelings. I choose to remember all the laughs and entertainment in the earlier part of his run.

When the show was kinda like sports-related Howard Stern-lite ... meaning that everybody was talking at once, the topic could move faster than shit through a goose and have nothing to do with what was said before nor after, that part of Stern, the part where they'd ostensibly have Robin read the news and it was a contest as to who could be the most entertaining and everybody in the room and listening to it knew it ... that's when it was at its best.
Time passes, they got older, too many corporate bosses came through, so it can't come back of course, irrespective of Terrance's departure. There are flashes of it here and there, where it turns into idiot talk for a half segment for no good reason, and it's not manufactured, it's just legit folks having fun 'competing' with each other like you ... okay, maybe not you, but I ... would when sitting around drinking with folks just killing time pretending there isn't a care in the world.

Sorry. Now all you get is Bernstein saying really important things, really slowly and in his really important voice.

This is TB. I know he occasionally says horrible things, etc. But there are people like that who deeply care about everything. They just don't outwardly show it all the time.

Sooooooo, Terry's last show won't be Boers and Bernstein? Nope. Terry and guests. Maybe Bernstein "guest hosts" an hour. I'm guessing Mac does.

I started listening in upper years of high school. So around '07/'08. My summer job sitting for 8 hours in a factory was sorting metal parts. Awful stuff. So I had a radio to kill the time while 20+ presses were stamping parts in the background.
I remember them as dicks but it was different. The rise in CTE awareness really signified the death of the show. Penn State was the final nail in the coffin. The show totally went into the shitter.

Tonight was supposed to happen. I left early and got in my car right at 5:55 PM. Totally not by design. That old bastard had me thinking someone broke into my car to cut onions within seconds. The show was a huge part of my past and I'll never forget it.

Did they name his successor yet? Bernstine was basically alluding to knowing the successor, but it wasn't announced. I was still emotionally involved, but it reminded me of why I haven't listened for quite some time.

I need to podcast the show today. Abbatacola and Bernstein I heard something about corporate issues with playing it on a podcast, etc. I'm not in the fucking mood to deal with corporate hack c*nts on my mini-vaca. Of my favorite show ever. I will look into the private life of any CBS radio exec until the entire final show is available. Sue me. My name is John Kirk.

The only thing I ever learned from Dan Bernstein.....and this is gonna seem weird but the only thing I ever learned from him was not to cook with hot water from the hot water faucet. Seriously.

Can you imagine if you clicked on the story and the first thing you saw was Terry Boers?

I'll definitely pick it up.
People can rag on Terry for phoning it in the past few years, but I still think an unleashed Terry Boers can be hugely entertaining.

How's Terry's hour on the Score going? He just talked about Michael Jordan and the Purple Hotel. Jordan said he'd never seen a purple building before. The same parking lot where Allen Dorfman was shot. Terry said "he got the business end of the purple." Man I miss hearing him.

When Bernstein first started doing updates on The Score, they used to say "update guy Tad Gay." Don't remember that at all.

Deep dive. What was the name of the Count or something that died and had an amazing obituary? Sumner Redstone dying made it pop in my head.
