Wait, so not only do Carol & Daryl have a spin off, Michone & Rick have their limited series, but now Maggie & Negan are going to New York for a series?
The Walking Dead: Dead City will premiere in 2023.
I literally just took a deep breath writing that and eye rolled so hard I have a headache.
I just looked up the ratings for the series. Why are these folks getting THREE spin offs? Is it because AMC has nothing left? Mad Men, Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, Kevin Can F Himself, etc, all done (or will be).

I like how there’s a random wrestling match in a ring for Commonwealth? So did someone have to leave town and search for a slightly used wrestling ring? Did the Commonwealth hit up Highspots?

This ep was boring. It’s like they’re on villain number 730 right now and I simply don’t care anymore.
4 eps left and I never have to watch this show again.
Ratings have dipped to 1.5 million range now. It’s pretty amazing to see how far this show has fallen from its peak

I liked last episode for a Walking Dead episode. The evolution of walkers went away from season 1, but they finally came back.
I'll watch the latest one tonight. Has to be better than the Bears.

I just got caught up on this season. What a steaming pile of shit. Why did Carol and Darryl need Hornsby alive at all? So much doesn't make sense. A magical train that goes to Alexandria that no one knows about in the 8 years you have been there?!?! And who was the kid that turned that had Maggie so upset?

That episode was so dumb. How did they all magically arrive at Alexandria again? And Neegan was just going to give himself up? For what? He is smart enough to know that the warden wouldn't honor shit. What happened to the other guards with guns? they just conveniently left? So. Fucking. Dumb. The announcement of the spinoffs really took away any tension, so there really aren't any stakes. You know Daryl, Negan, and Maggie all survive.
Those spinoffs look weird as hell too. Maggie and Negan somehow go to New York and Daryl goes to Paris? How the hell will that work?
Just 2 weeks left. Then our long, national nightmare is over.

It is all just so stupid. Lydia was stupid. Carol and Daryl were stupid. The Judith thing was telegraphed and groan worthy long before it happened. Where the hell did that train from Alexandria to Commonwealth come from again?!?! New tough commando lady arrests Mercer for treason then 15 seconds later she is realizing Pamela is a moron. No lady, you were the moron all along. All the forced Neegan redemption arc stuff was dumb, the only thing needed was that convo between him and Ezekial. One more episode and I can stop the hate.

I love the zombie genre, but it is so limited for long term storytelling. Its been 12 years or so? It is still the same thing - find new people, fight, help each other, find new enemy, rinse, repeat. This whole Commonwealth storyline is the Governor story but with budget. Or Terminus. Or when they first came to Alexandria. Without Rick being gritty and forcing everyone to survive it just doesn't work. |
