Aemond One-Eye was the MVP of this episode. He's been a weakling so far, and now he goes and claims the biggest dragon in the world. Then he fights off 4 of his cousins. Aegon really looks like a puss too.
Then Daemon and Rhaenyra finally getting together. Laneor twist at the end was a nice touch. Not sure who it was that burned, but damn that's cold to do to your parents.

They are all incredibly unlikeable. I know what happens but I want them all to lose. This struck me last night during the argument scene. I have zero interest in any of these characters. I wanted a dragon to take out the entire room and change the direction of the show to all new characters. Again. It's possible this show is popular and bad. |

I don't think the show is bad. There's no classic hero, but I think they're trying to position Rhaenyra as the protagonist. That fucking Otto and his daughter are the villains.

I'm rereading A Song of Ice and Fire series for the first time in about 10 years.
I didn't remember Storm having both the Red and Purple weddings.
I'm gonna be angry all over again that Winds still hasn't come out.

Viserys was awesome trying one last time to unite his family. And he would've gotten away with it, too, if it wasn't for those damn kids.
Daemon daring Vaemond to say his piece and then taking care of business was phenomenal.
Aemond eyeing up Daemon... prophetic.
This show continues to have the subtle shots from GRRM to the guys who ran Game of Thrones. "Aegon is the prince who was promised." Fuck you, D&D.
2 episodes left this season and it's just gotten better and better.

So many things I don't understand. The pacing of this show remains terrible. I thought Larys was a Strong? And why introduce a foot fetish this late in the game? Why did Arrick save Rahenys and then torch her rooms? Why was Aegon hiding under the altar at the Great Sept of Baelor? WHy was Rahenys dragon underneath the Great Sept? What was that deal with the White Wyrm nonsense? I am guessing many of those bastards were Aegon's kids but they were a little too subtle with the insinuation.
Otto needs his comeuppance next week - that is all.

I don't really know how you could be disappointed in it. It's a perfect spot to end the first season.
Some of the choices were a little odd (Daemon choking Rhaenyra, Aemond and Luke not really having control of their dragons) but overall I think this was a pretty damn great season and did a lot to rescue the Game of Thrones franchise.

I think it had moments, but the pacing was uneven and choppy. Not only Daemon choking Rhaenyra, but what with that weird Aemond eye reveal? That should have been done two episodes prior.
It is so hard to do this complex source material justice.
