I didn't look up if there was a thread for this already, but the axe has been coming down all morning in the WWE. Figured this would be a good spot to talk about it.
So far.... Theodore Long Brodus Clay Camacho Evan Bourne Yoshi Tatsu Curt Hawkins Aksana Jinder Mahal Drew McIntyre
Some are surprising, others aren't at all. Guess they ran the 3MB/Matadores into the ground as much as they could. I liked McIntyre, but his upper mid card push just disappeared. Bourne isn't surprising, he was great in the ring, but injuries & suspensions were the downfall. I do wonder if they actually went with the unstoppable monster gimmick for Brodus how it would've worked out instead of being from Planet Funk. Aksana improved a bunch in the ring if you look at when she first started. She's a hell of a lot better than Cameron (also how the hell is Rosa Mendes still hired?). If it wasn't for NXT squash matches, I'd forget Yoshi was still employed. I'm bummed about Hawkins, he was probably my favorite off the list. His stuff on NXT with Reks was pretty entertaining & he never really got a chance after the Edgeheads was over.
As of this writing Santino is still under contract (unfortunately) and JTG is still hide & seek master. |

Mark Henry tweeted a pic of himself saying "Here we stand, 18 years in August. Still Here!!" Pretty poor time to tweet something like that when 11 people thus far has gotten canned. Glad Hawkins, joking or not, tweeted that he's an idiot.
I say 11 people, because we can unfortunately add JTG to the list. I have to applaud the man. Employed for 7 years this time around & wrestled once or twice on TV in the past 3 years, still getting a paycheck. That's the American dream right there.

Fairly confident that JTG tribute was done by WWE & they just had it ready, only having to change the year number at the end.

I'm surprised & happy they let Vickie go out on a high note (covered in something, never said what that was). For the hand she was dealt, she did pretty great.
I'm also kinda surprised they released Josh Mathews. He did a solid job over the years as a backstage interviewer, commentator & the pre/post show host. Wonder if this means more Renee Young? Which I'm all for,
