Cut Cena? The only guy that has really drawn a dime for the company over the last 10 years. Don't tell me CM Punk because in all those ppv's that Punk was champion, Cena was the main event. Cena is shit on left and right and for what reason I have no idea. How many match of the year matches does he has to have to gain people's respect?
He's the top drawing ppv guy and merchandise draw as well and it's not even close.

Clearly I was joking with that.
Cena is shit on because unless you are 12 years old he is pretty brutal to watch.....but because he is such a huge part of revenue with the merch to the kids he has to be front and center all the time. Then you add the make-a-wish aspect (what he does is really amazing) which completely hamstrings the ability to develop or alter his character. He also messes with the entire polarity of the face/heel thing because the crowd always pops for the heel when they aren't supposed to because they want him to lose.

Did I miss a post where someone advocated cutting Cena?

Did I miss a post where someone advocated cutting Cena? I said you could cut Cena and save everyones job...........as he probably makes 20 times more than the 10 percent of the staff they will fire. Clearly I was serious.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer radio that the subscriber numbers as of a couple of days ago for the WWE Network are at 690,000. The number that WWE released today was for the period up to June 30th so that means that they’ve actually lost 10,000 subscribers in the last month. The good news is that the company is in better finanical shape because of the cost cutting and that explains why their stock is doing well today. For those people in Canada, if you don’t hav Rogers Cable, they will distribute the WWE Network to other cable providers as a television station and a digital station. WWE will be dropping the magazine division. If a magazine distribution company wants to take over the WWE Magazine then WWE will look at that option but as of now the magazine department is no more.As part of the budget cuts, they’ll be cutting back on people that they bring to their TV tapings. They will also be cutting back on special effects. As a result of all of the budget cuts, they don’t need a huge network subscription number and they’ll likely break even next year. While the position I was up for still seems safe, I am thanking God I wasn't hired now. I can't live through shit like this all the time. i can't believe the E is going through something like this.

NXT releases have started.
Garett Dylan Travis Tyler Slate Randall Mac Miles Dani Jax
I knew Dylan used to team with Scott Dawson for a bit, but nothing else. Tyler I've only seen job a few times. And Randall I've only seen briefly, he had a good look though, so that's kinda surprising. Other two I have no clue. Fingers crossed we don't see Solomon Crowe's name pop up (Sami Callihan).

More Updates On WWE's Layoffs And Which Departments Were Downsized Posted by Joseph Lee on 08.01.2014
More cuts are coming...
- The number of WWE employees being cut appears to be rising. WWE gave an official number of 55 while CNN Money reported today that the number was actually 60. Now Wrestlezone reports that it's actuallly about 82 people, which would be 8% of the staff. They range from those hired this year to someone who has been with the company for twenty years.
Cuts were made in several different departments, including accounting, WWE.com, production assistants and human relations. All fourteen people on the WWE Magazine staff will be released. The October edition will be the last for the magazine and the contents are finished enough that the staff can be released now. WWE will pay over $4.5 million in severance.

Sad about the magazine. I remember getting pretty much every issue from 1992 through 2003, or whenever they broke up the magazine into Raw & Smackdown issues.

Sad about the magazine. I remember getting pretty much every issue from 1992 through 2003, or whenever they broke up the magazine into Raw & Smackdown issues. Then you should be happy to hear about this... Vic Venom Is Back
Former WWE, WCW and TNA writer Vince Russo recently posted an editorial to his website, Pyro and Ballyhoo, announcing the return of his alter ego, Vic Venom.
Russo used the Venom name while he wrote for WWE and the WWE Magazine several years ago, and addresses why he used the name in his post. The article is written as ‘Venom’, and it addresses a number of topics, including criticisms of Russo himself, why he originally used the name, and more. You can read an excerpt from the post below:
Now, I get it, he had that naggin’ wife and his bratty brats to feed, and, no matter how much he despised what he was watchin’ on WWF TV, he had to tread carefully because he couldn’t afford to lose his job. But, Russo, Russo could just never keep his mouth shut–you know–that’s how us I-talians are—so, he had to figure out a way to make his opinion known—while protectin’ his spot in the company at the same time. Now, whether he’s a complete jerk, or not, you’ve got to give Russo his due here because this is what he did. HE CREATED ME—VIC VENOM—and the reason why was simple–his intention was to go in the WWF magazine, write about how crappy the product was, put MY NAME TO IT, and then get away with it by explaining to everybody that IT WAS ALL A WORK!!! And, you know what—the potato heads bought it!!! Under MY pen name, Russo was able to say whatever he wanted—without ever puttin’ his livelihood in jeopardy!!!

Good Lord. I can already picture how much he'll put over Jeff Jarrett. Maybe not so much The Roadie, but definitely Jarrett, that's the one person he put over in every damn magazine.

WWE timekeeper Mark Yeaton was released by the company this week. This is considered a shocking release because he’s been the company since the 1980s. This has people worried because it sends the message that no one is safe from budget cuts.

How much money can the timekeeper really make?

Since the 80s too, you'd think he would've had at least some job security.
How happy do you think Eva Marie, Cameron & Rosa are that they've already shot Total Divas season 3? I have to think if they weren't involved on that show they'd have been canned a while ago.

I had to roll out earlier, but I was pretty sure that was the Stone Cold beer tossing guy, verified by KS. It's probably someone they've been ready to roll, and this is the excuse. Corporate loyalty doesn't exist. Always remember that kids.

I know they replaced the original, but if you told me Sin Cara would've lasted longer than Del Rio, I would've thought you were crazy.
He wasn't doing anything, but was a guy who'd put on decent matches against upper card guys. I am kinda surprised at the released, but not completely shocked.
Del Rio & Ricardo, get them in PWG as a team, for one shot, I don't care, haha.

Also they save money buying those little flags they put in the corners when Del Rio wrestled. They still do that? I can't remember. Anyway to save money right now.

Hunter's first class is all gone now.
Thankfully he started to realize that finding established US indy guys were more likely to get over than guys who were popular in Mexico.

I thought he was going to retire anyways. He got awfully stale once Ricardo was shown the door. For some reason that worked.
