I went and saw Stop Making Sense yesterday in theaters. If you’re a Talking Heads fan, it’s the 40th anniversary of their concert film and it was great

There are 4 Roald Dahl shorts on Netflix directed by Wes Anderson and I really enjoyed them.
If you like Wes Anderson, you’ll be the same. If you hate Wes Anderson, you’ll find it annoying.

Killers of the Flower Moon is long, excellent, horrifying, heartbreaking, etc
The acting is top notch, it’s 3 hours & 20 minutes and it definitely doesn’t fly by.
But it’s in my Top 3 movies of the year so far easily.

Lily Gladstone had a small role in Reservation Dogs, but she was amazing in it. Glad to see she crushed the role in the movie as well.

If she doesn’t win an award or the very least nominated, it’ll be such bullshit.
She was the best part of the movie.
You expect great acting from Leo & DeNiro, she knocked it out of the park

I can't wait to watch this movie.

One thing I didn’t need was 30 minutes of previews before a 3 1/2 hour movie.
Schedule your piss breaks accordingly, haha

Yeah that's why I'll probably wait until it's on demand somewhere. 4 hours in a theater doesn't work. Haha.

The climactic fight scene in Blue Beetle is a New Jack match, complete with soundtrack.
I popped big time.

American Symphony on Netflix.
You will cry. If not, you’re a fucking robot.
No other documentary comes close to being as great as this is.

If you've ever seen Zack & Miri Make a Porno, Justin Long plays a gay porn star named Brandon St. Randy and has this really deep/funny voice for the scene he's in.
Bradley Cooper's new movie Maestro, he plays Leonard Bernstein and his voice is the exact same as Justin's for the whole movie. It was a good film, but I couldn't stop thinking about that the entire movie.
Also saw Napoleon and outside of the battle scenes, thought it was a massive letdown. Felt like Joaquin just wanted to play dress up and use a silly accent.

Zack: Pardon me if I’m out of line, but are you in gay porn? Brandon: Guilty as charged, I thought you recognized me at first, but you’re not my demographic Zack: Whose your demographic? Brandon: Do you like pussy? Zack: I do indeed Brandon: Then not you! Zack: Oh…

Iron Claw ticket has been secured for the first showing at our towns new movie theater (opened by the dudes who made A Quiet Place).
Looking forward to seeing it and being depressed as hell.

No spoilers (but we know their story), but The Iron Claw was phenomenal. Efron deserves award nominations. Put some fucking respect on Maura Tierney’s name! Newsradio 4 Life.
Things I caught… Executive Producer - Maxwell Jacob Friedman Gino Hernandez - Ryan Nemeth
Only bad casting was whoever was Ric Flair was like Young Rock bad acting (in ring only, him talking normally sounded like Flair ironic enough). His woooo sounded like a turkey gobbling. That was the only negative.
I give it a solid 9/10

Oh, you'll see in reviews that they completely omitted Chris Von Erich. The director said there was so much heartache that they didn't add him to the film.
While I could see why people are disappointed about his character not in it (he's literally never mentioned), I also get why the director focused more on David, Kevin, Kerry & Mike.

Watching The Money Pit for the first time because it’s leaving Netflix soon.
Hanks rules.
Shelley Long is somehow almost as insufferable as she was on Cheers.

The Money Pit was my introduction to Tom Hanks, and I've been a fan since then.
Agreed: Shelley Long was incredibly annoying in that movie.

I don't think Trent was being literal. I finally watched a clip of the Flair portion of Iron Claw. It's pretty bad, but I guess the outrage caused me to expect worse.

Oh I just thought Trent’s was funny, he even pointed out how Nemeth has a bigger role than MJF.
The Flair dude’s awful impression stands out more than it should because it’s deep into the movie and you’re really into the seriousness of what’s going on. He comes on and there’s a collective groan/laugh from the audience. It sort of sucks the wind out of the scene.
The clip alone doesn’t do it justice (or misjustice)

Agreed. Just have Fritz slam a Wooo Energy Drink to pay for the use of old Ric footage or something.
Anything was better than what we got. I feel bad for the guy who played Naitch, the director should’ve known better. How this bad of an impression fell through the cracks is wild to me.

I thought the guy who played Harley was pretty solid did he really look like him, no, but the mannerisms and especially the grizzly voice made it believable.
When you don’t have the Wooo down, that’s on the casting director.
The dude who played Brody and then also Nemeth as Gino were in it so briefly that you didn’t have enough time to really critique it. Brody was big and hairy and Gino had the haircut.

Leave the World Behind on Netflix was pretty solid. Based on a book, and produced by the Obamas, it's about what happens when all kinds of shit goes wrong.

I wish I liked it more. The ending confused and took me completely out of it. Prior to that I was enjoying the weirdness.
Speaking of weirdness, if you like Emma Stone having sex, Poor Things is really funny (Ruffalo crushes it too), strange and one of the more unique movies I’ve seen all year.
Also saw The Boys in the Boat. Directed by George Clooney, it’s an inspirational sports true story about rowing. Even though it was set in the 30’s this absolutely felt like a movie you’d see in the 90s. That’s not a bad thing, I thought it was good. Not great, but good.
