Also they should just rename the awards the AEW Awards. At a glance, yes. It seems that way. But I just can't see a metric where WWE wins the majority of those awards, all things considered. Even casual WWE followers could admit that 2021 was a very bad year for them creatively. One of the worst, in fact. |

Who is a better commentator than Excalibur though? WWE ones are awful. JR forgets a lot. Taz isn’t on enough (though I love him on Dark). Tony is more of an interviewer/commentator.
I like Kevin Kelly the most, but the pandemic and NJPW struggles have limited him greatly.
I think Excalibur deserves it. Although I understand your guys’ complaints about over analyzing stuff. But at least he’s not Matt Striker levels of doing that.
I find him entertaining

I agree, I don’t think Punk should’ve won that, but it’s not Dave picking them. And while the reasoning Dave gave I was fine with, I don’t think that should be enough to warrant the win for the category though.
I haven’t liked the WWE product in a long time, but Roman & Brock are the only thing keeping me interested and I know I’m not alone with that.

Dave & Garrett interviewed Kenny last night and I’m currently 20 minutes into it.
Kenny said he thought he’d be back in February but it’s going to be a lot later because of Covid pushing appointments back and everything. He still needs to get his hernia surgery done before thinking about returning. He said after that is done, you’re looking at 6-8 week recovery time.
I’ll keep posting tidbits from it, but it’s a good listen. I honestly hope he stays out until All Out or something. I just want Kenny healthy or as healthy as possible and not to rush anything. They have the roster to cover for him

Christian, Hangman & Sami Callihan were his favorite matches in 2021
Said he’d love to have a program with Adam Cole or Jay White when he returns, something they can actually properly build
His 60 minute Okada match was originally going to be about a 15 minute match with Okada going over but Kenny & Okada wanted to do something completely different and went the broadway

Kenny said Cody’s vision was different than he & The Bucks and he doesn’t think him leaving is about money or issues with Tony not wanting to pay him more. He always got along with Cody professionally but he wasn’t someone he’d go get a Diet Pepsi with in his off time.

Kenny said he & The Bucks never wanted to go to war with Vince. They just wanted an alternative. Cody might’ve had a different mindset.
The Bucks would be off doing their thing. Kenny would be doing his thing. Then the Codyverse would be doing whatever he was doing. And it ultimately came down to Tony, because it’s his baby. But Tony listens to input from everyone.
