I've been listening since around four.  Today has been like a midday show.  I was almost afraid to put the station on, as I feared they would somehow have a negative about Banks.  Even Boers and F'ing Bernstein have nothing bad to say about Ernie Banks.  

Bernstein:  I didn't really know Ernie Banks.  I was once introduced to him and it was fine.  He walked away soon after.  

Boers:  Probably because even Ernie Banks knew you were a PEEENUS.  Oh, Dan Bernstein.  

Afternoon listenership was up for grabs in January, with CBS Radio all-news WBBM 780 and WCFS FM 105.9, anchored by Kris Kridel and Keith Johnson, rising to the top of the charts.

Nielsen Audio ratings released Tuesday for the period from January 1 to 28 showed the Newsradio combo displacing longtime afternoon leader Doug Banks of iHeartMedia urban adult-contemporary WVAZ FM 102.7, who fell to third.

Between them was Kevin “Koz” Koske of Hubbard Radio hot adult-contemporary WTMX FM 101.9. Although second overall, Koske finished first among listeners between 25 and 54.

Cracking the afternoon top 10 for the first time were Terry Boers and Dan Bernstein of CBS Radio sports/talk WSCR AM 670.

The latest ratings do not reflect the January 26 start of Roe Conn as afternoon host at Tribune Media news/talk WGN AM 720. His predecessors, Bill Leff and Wendy Snyder, bowed out in a tie for 20th place with a 2.3 share. They now co-host middays on WGN.

Steve Dahl, who succeeded Conn and Richard Roeper at Cumulus Media news/talk WLS AM 890 in November, tied for 25th in afternoons with a 1.4 share.

Here are Chicago’s top 10 afternoon shows among listeners age 6 and older from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, as measured by Nielsen Audio in January, followed by average share (with previous month’s share in parentheses):

Bernstein was just doing a bit about Ricketts having to pay for Ernie's funeral. Maybe I was in the right mood, but I was cracking up.

Bernstein may be in some trouble on this one.

Bernstein is getting hammered nationally as well as locally.

When you play in dirt, eventually you get dirty.

There's a big part of me that agrees with this as well.  But you can't be the moral high ground guy and not expect this backlash.  I find the number of people leaping out on this laughable.  But you know who would usually be that guy?  Dan Bernstein.  Do I think commenting on a female television personality with a purposeful, significant augmentation is the same as child rape or domestic abuse?  No.  But when you become that guy, you're fair game.  

You guys are about the same height.
